To turn Ds forward facing

DS is 13 months old and I had planned on keeping him rear facing until he was at least two. After checking the spec on his car seat it states it is only suitable bro be rear facing until child is 13kg, which he now is. I feel uncomfortable at the thought of having him forward facing at such a young age but is it safer to do so now he has reached the maximum weight for rear facing? WWYD in this situation, keep him rear facing in his current seat or have him forward facing?

How is your 13mo 13kg?!
He has always been tall for his age and is solid! He is 83cm.
He is only just at the maximum weight for rear facing so I will leave him that way. We aren't using the car a great deal just now.

Posted too soon. I will buy a seat that allows him to stay rear facing for longer. Thanks for your replies

Glad to see your update op. Like others I would really recommend the axkid minikid. My son is tall too and this one allows for extra leg room.

I bought a Joie every stage for my youngest dd. It rear faces up to 18 kg or 4 years old, which ever comes first and then front faces up to the age of 12. It was a bit more expensive, but I loved that I could RF for so long and don't need to buy any more car seats for her.
