Has anyone booked a UK break recently in the hope restrictions will be lifted?

Any sites that are safe in terms of refunds?

Yes, just booked a self catering cottage in Devon for the beginning of August. Didn’t want to leave it so late that everything was booked up.
@Holidayaddict thank you, I will check them out, but not your cottage! We are looking at July, we were supposed to go to France (hadn't booked flights) to family home but just decided to stay in the UK.

@cookiemonster that's an option I hadn't thought of, thank you.

@shamoo & @smallpinkbear can I ask which companies you used? I'm scared of everything being "sold out" if I leave it too long.
We booked with a small firm in Norfolk called Barefoot Retreats, they had several things still available (if you want to go to North Norfolk!)

We have a caravan and have sites booked every month up to August next year. I've had lots of phone calls saying that the site is closed and do I want a refund or the deposit money kept in my account for my next holiday. They usually phone about two weeks before I am due to go away. I just carry on being hopeful.

We do.have a week booked in August for Haven,we booked it in January ,but I'm going to postpone as I think even if the site is open ,I think many of the facilities won't be .

We have booked a Forest holiday for the last week of the summer holidays, there is a jacuzzi and lots of space to walk, so that'll do us just fine if most places aren't open.

Booked for late October. Can cancel with full refund 14 days before so figure it’s quite safe to book it and wait and see what happens.

Frazzledfatty - These are a reputable 5 star cottage complex but I wouldn't book until the Government says this is okay.

Even then, when I checked our dentist's website last night and they say they may not be in a position to open on the 8 June as it is down to getting the correct PPE and following guidelines. They also said, it won't be like any normal dentist visit either so that sounds a bit scary. I digress here, but there is such uncertainty.

I booked a break with hoseasons for the beginning of this month ( may ) and after a long battle I managed to get a full refund.
I will never book with them again, or Sykes, their sister company.
Looking to book with Park Dean for a few days in September. I've booked with them many times before and never had an issue with them. I had a weekend booked with them for the end of May, which obviously had to be cancelled and they refunded me immediately with no problems at all.

I booked a posh hotel in Cornwall as a treat to soften the blow of my holiday to France being cancelled. I've not paid for it yet. So won't loose anything if it doesn't go ahead.

Supposed to be going to London in July. I suspect travelling there, by train, will not be feasible Sad
