The title makes me think of something sordid happening Confused but yes, I am in the same position! Desperate for a massage. A good friend is a masseuse and hasn't been back to work yet. I think she's had a few private clients in the past few weeks though. Very tempted to ask her for a massage soon.

Bloody Hell. I'll be going back to my chiropractor the minute she re-opens.

As soon as it’s possible to have a massage I will be first at the door.

Also my nails, especially my toenails, need attention and I can’t wait to get them seen to.

Absolutely no qualms whatsoever.

I would have absolutely no problem in having a massage, provided the place was regularly disinfected. Bit odd to put it as ‘someone else touching your body’ though.

Ah ok, now I understand why 1 or 2 thought the title was strange, yes it was in regards to covid , all I was doing was repeating what friends had said to me and I hadn’t thought about how it might be interpreted, sorry if I gave the wrong idea

Agree, the heading is clearly misleading. Why didn't you just say 'Would you go to a masseur/chiropractor/osteopath?' They might be a stranger if you've never met them, but you have Hmm), but they are trained practitioners! I wouldn't class them as my friend either! Not exactly a random stranger like your heading might imply! They are all trained in infection control, washing hands etc anyway, and even more so during covid.

I'm a therapist. I'll be working as soon as my insurance and governing body allows me to. Do what you need/want to, but they aren't really a stranger are they

My chiropractor is returning to work next week and I have an appointment having had chronic pain throughout lock down. The clinic is having to triage everyone over the phone and space clients out so that they can disinfect between each one. clients will be asked to sign a consent form before treatment and wear a mask and gloves. I am so thankful for them to be back working but am concerned as she said that she doubts that it is economically viable to run the clinic.

Yup, unless I was vulnerable or lived with someone who was. I’m firmly of the opinion we can’t spend the next 2-however many years tiptoeing around because of the tiny risk we might catch it or infect someone else. But everyone is allowed their own views on this.

My friend is a freelancer and also works with Urban Massage - they are being really good about issuing new guidelines so I’ve booked two in. She’s had no work while I’ve been saving money, she’ll stick to the instructions to the letter, and I am a single woman living alone and haven’t been touched by another human being in three months. I need my massage.

I have always signed a consent form before a treatment. Guessing it is to do with their Governing body and Insurance.
