To think I’ll never be going back to the office again?

I’m in the civil service and we’ve been told we aren’t going back this year? You CAN go into the office if you can’t work from home but we are meant to be WFH.

I keep reading on here that people are being told they are never going to back to the office.

Is this the end of offices then?

We were told yesterday we will be phasing returns to the office with only 30% capacity back by September. Likely majority will be WFH until end of financial year. I’m MOD civil service and work in a huge modern open plan building.

Also civil service, we have been told we won't be back before Christmas, march more likely, and I can't see it being every day, much more likely 2-3 days p/w tops. I'll stay away as long as possible, a week in London every fortnight would be ideal for me. In my dept we have been allowed to order office equipment up to a certain amount to help with home working, but I already had a good set up so it wasn't needed. I'd say I am fairly introvert and was wfh 3 days p/w anyway - so it's causing me no problems, apart from horrified SMT making us do a million zoom meetings each week, like this is anything like a face to face meeting! It's not!

Best thing I do is have virtual coffees with mates twice a day to catch up on gossip, and chat all day on our messaging service to relieve the isolation!
