DH, DS, DD and I have been isolating, working from home, all food delivered etc.

Today DH invited his brother to our house (first rule broken). BiL and girlfriend (second rule broken) turn-up and they sit in the garden (third rule broken). They stayed for about 2.5 hours, sitting 2m apart. Didn't go inside the house.

I think this was stupid and immoral, but DH thinks I'm being over-cautious.

AIBU?

Sugartits that IS stupid.

Khione · 25/05/2020 23:31

The rules are about the risk of spreading CV

Sitting 2 m apart in a garden is very very very low to no risk. So why should it matter. The police would not be interested.

CurtainWitcher · 26/05/2020 10:12

Thanks everyone. I'm glad I am BU.

Sugartitss, why would you do that and risk lives?

Are any of you actually shielding? Because if not, I'm not seeing what the panic is.

Most other people have been going to the supermarket, possibly going to work outside the home for weeks now.

It's impossible to go for a walk when there's no-one around where I live - the woods are heaving with dogwalkers and cyclists, you'd have to go out at midnight.

Unless one of you needs to shield, your very tight lockdown has fuelled your anxiety.

@CurtainWitcher friend was in a terrible way so gave her a hug. Only risking my own life eating the sandwich. Kids are out playing, absolutely not keeping two metres between them. No point in me killing myself when they could bring it home. Have no one in my family that is at risk nor have the people I’m mixing with.

My boyfriend has had friends over non stop.

No one has got sick.

Sugartitss · 26/05/2020 15:52

And I’m over it all now to be honest.

User8008135 · 26/05/2020 22:15

He social distanced as did they. The rules as such appear pretty flexible outside with social distancing.

SillyCow6 · 26/05/2020 22:20

@sauvignonblancplz the rule is actually groups of up to 4 people that dont share a household can meet up outside whilst maintaining a 2m distance. Regardless, and Im not saying he was right or wrong, but Ireland has different rules because we are a different country with different risks and a different approach to covid entirely, so you cannot say that because the rules in Ireland are " ..." so we can do it also

sauvignonblancplz · 26/05/2020 23:24

@SillyCow6 Apologies I am in NI- rules are 4-6.
I take your point however .
