Dd is 3. She'll be going back to nursery for two 3 hour sessions a week for the first few weeks. Her nursery has remained open the entire time, for key worker's children. I am actually a key worker but dh has been furloughed while non-essential shops couldn't open. She's misses her friends desperately but I still want to ease her back in gently as I'm "vulnerable" so very nervous about her bringing covid home to me.

No, I have a child in foundation who won’t be returning. Personally I don’t think it’s safe enough yet

CoronaIsComing · 25/05/2020 20:24

Well technically it’s the 8th June at DS’s school, but yes, when it open he’ll go back because as an only child, his social skills are deteriorating rapidly and he’s going to high school in Sept and I worry a out him making new friends.

Bean74 · 25/05/2020 20:24

Yes

MrsDoubtfire2018 · 25/05/2020 20:24

Plus said child is doing better with one to one attention from me during homeschool than they have been doing at school

deeplybaffled · 25/05/2020 20:25

Yes, they will both be in nursery for 3 days but have been going anyway as we are both keyworkers.

bluebunnyblue · 25/05/2020 20:26

Yes, 1st is an inset day but our reception class daughter will be back to school on 2nd, and our 3yo will be back at the childminder that week, but not nursery as we decided we didn't want her to go to two different settings.

SpeedofaSloth · 25/05/2020 20:26

Yes yes yes. DS is looking forward to it and it will benefit his mental health massively.

happymummy12345 · 25/05/2020 20:28

No, my sons nursery will not be opening on the 1st. I wouldn't have sent him anyway

sherbetmelon · 25/05/2020 20:28

Yes. My daughter isn't school age but she will be going back to nursery for one morning per week. I am a year 1 teacher and DH is self employed so has been home this whole time meaning she hasn't needed to go. Hoping he can return to work soon now that construction is slowly starting up again and I feel it's important she gets back into somewhat of a routine with nursery, although reduced from before.

RaggieDolls · 25/05/2020 20:29

I'd like to buy unfortunately council say 22nd June for yr 1 DC and September for yr 3.

They have offered zero in the way of solutions for those of us expected to continue working.

Pinkflipflop85 · 25/05/2020 20:29

Yes. On the 2nd because the 1st is an inset day.

My ds was extremely excited today when I told him he should be able to go to school in 8 sleeps. It's the happiest I have seen him in a long time.

Ballet1992 · 25/05/2020 20:30

Yes my nursery and primary aged kids are going back.

Puzzleypuzzle · 25/05/2020 20:30

No, thought long and hard about it but decided not to.

Very big inner London school and I’m not working right now anyway so I can.

BlusteryLake · 25/05/2020 20:32

Yes, we need to start the process of getting back to normal.

Sometimeswinning · 25/05/2020 20:33

Yes! Not for work as I have 2 others at home. I have to take annual leave with dh. I do, however, realise it needs to start somewhere.

PineappleUpsideDownCake · 25/05/2020 20:33

Yr6 child I am as she has missed school and isnt dealing with home v well.

aceyace · 25/05/2020 20:33

Yes!

SquigglePigs · 25/05/2020 20:34

Yes to nursery. Not sure what hours yet, waiting to hear back from nursery on that. We've been trying to juggle childcare and work so even if it's just a day or two a week it'll take the pressure off. She loved nursery and will benefit from the company and stimulation. The nursery's plan on managing things is as reassuring as it can be, plus reality is we need to work and our companies have been amazingly understanding but we can't expect them to be forever.

Smellybluecheese · 25/05/2020 20:34

No. We are thinking maybe the 15th in line with the independent sage report. (DD is year R). School is only opening for 2 hours a day 2 days a week.

treenu · 25/05/2020 20:34

Yes

Showchin2 · 25/05/2020 20:35

Good grief no!
How anyone can follow advice issued by this clown government is beyond me!

Hibbetyhob · 25/05/2020 20:38

Yes so I can do my job as a teacher.

Battysace123 · 25/05/2020 20:39

Yes I will be sending my reception child back. The risk is low so on balance I think it's the right decision

YgritteSnow · 25/05/2020 20:41

Do children really lose their social skills to worrying levels over a matter of 8 weeks? Obviously not talking about those with additional needs.
