To wonder how the Cummings travelled 4.5hrs with a small child without needing the loo?

If they managed it, they have more impressive bladders than my family!

They definitely stopped to use a service station or two, it kind of goes without saying and that is part of people’s rage.

LaurieMarlow · 25/05/2020 09:17

He didn’t. He’s lying.

madcatladyforever · 25/05/2020 09:18

I was just saying this on facebook this morning, they would have needed the loo several times and petrol at least once, so spreading covid-19 everywhere. Disgusting.

rosie1959 · 25/05/2020 09:18

If it is 260 miles it's not going to take that long especially as roads would have been quite

BeyondMyWits · 25/05/2020 09:19

or how they managed to isolate the child's infected mother away from both himself and the child (they were "protecting") in a car?

DontStandSoCloseToMe · 25/05/2020 09:21

I completely disagree with what DC has done but on this point, I have driven that journey many times without stopping. If it was the evening and DC was asleep in the car or in nappies still it would be easy

LadyWithLapdog · 25/05/2020 09:21

260 miles is a long way, even at top speed limit. Or, fuck it, he’s Cummings and can do whatever the fuck he likes, break the law on speed limit as well.

SushiGo · 25/05/2020 09:21

I have absolutely no doubt he's lying.

But one of mine has a bladder of steel and could have done it!

Cremebrule · 25/05/2020 09:22

We’ve done trips up to the north east from London and it is a hard drive. The only thing he could have done though is bundle the child in the car asleep and go at night but I’d be surprised if he’d manage to do it without stopping at all.

Humphriescushion · 25/05/2020 09:23

I would never have managed that. At least one stop.

LadyWithLapdog · 25/05/2020 09:23

So was it only the mother who was ill? And Cummings couldn’t look after a 4 year old but puppeteers Johnson. So a 4 year old rules the country.

BikeRunSki · 25/05/2020 09:23

I’ve driven Durham to London many many times. Even at 4pm on Christmas Eve or in the middle of the night it takes a good 4 hours (I was going to S London though, less to N London). Long enough to need a wee though.

Iggii · 25/05/2020 09:25

I haven't heard that question being asked re his journey by journalists - I think it's really important.

Baaaahhhhh · 25/05/2020 09:26

Not to support the action, but we regularly drive across Europe and only stop once a day. Go in the morning when you leave, then around lunchtime, then in the evening at destination. Children included.

ScarfLadysBag · 25/05/2020 09:28

DH and I could easily manage it so I guess it's just whether his child could. Maybe he's still in nappies as he's not toilet trained I guess. Pee at the side of the road?

Although perhaps someone who works at a petrol station or service station will come forward shortly, which seems more likely!

Troels · 25/05/2020 09:28

I think all the service stations should check CCTV if they keep it that long and prove he's a lying toad of a man.

Artesia · 25/05/2020 09:30

Maybe they peed in a bottle. Or had a wild wee. Honestly- if a journalist uses their one slot in a televised national press conference to ask about the Cummings’ family’s bladder control, we really are scrapping the bottom of the barrel.

LadyWithLapdog · 25/05/2020 09:42

We’re scraping the bottom of the barrel, unless you’re that person he knowingly breathed on during his trip. Or the one having to remibd people day in day out what the rules are and then look like a complete fucking mug.

Loulabella · 25/05/2020 09:45

BeyondMyWits, yes I guess they must have really been panicking or desperate (or selfish), to expose their child to a covid-infected person in such a confined space for hours on end. It flies in the face of Boris's 'any parent would have done the same thing' comment.

OP posts:
thegcatsmother · 25/05/2020 09:46

Perhaps the child used a potty in a layby; not unheard of surely? I can get 300 miles out a tank of petrol, so 260 miles might not be a problem.

SandieCheeks · 25/05/2020 09:49

Dom is clearly such a great father than he would rather risk his son contracting Covid than risk having to look after his child himself while he wife was ill Hmm

CloudsCanLookLikeSheep · 25/05/2020 09:52

I put my 5 year old in a nappy for a long distance flight once. Quite easy to get the night time ones for that age.

littleducks · 25/05/2020 09:56

If wouldn't have been a problem for any of mine, often did London to Devon no stops. Toilet veggies leaving and on arrival

Suzie6789 · 25/05/2020 09:58

He didn’t, and In travelling the family risked infecting countless others, but they are selfish cunts who don’t give a shit and are above following the rules.

zingally · 25/05/2020 10:03

Short answer: They didn't.

An adult wouldn't manage that drive without needing at least 1 break for a wee, coffee, something to eat.
I'd anticipate a 4 year old needing at absolute bare minimum 2 stops, but more like 3 or even 4.

If they try and tell us they didn't stop, I don't believe it for a millisecond.
