AIBU to think no one will want to go back to work

Just that really, a high percentage of people are either working from home or getting paid 80% + of their wages to stay at home.

Those working from home have no commute anymore and having spent several weeks working from home it’s not as hard as being at office especially as have to make compensations for fact looking after 2 kids. Those on furlough are literally on holiday. Call me cynical but I wonder how many of those shouting loudest not to lift lockdown are just enjoying being at home?

I don’t want to offend anyone, I’m sure this doesn’t apply to everyone but I bet it does to a lot. So come on peeps be honest!

I'm in a team of three. I'm the only one with kids. Me and one other are perfectly content at home.

The other person makes a big hoo haa about "networking" and "building relationships" so hates being at home as it's also exposing how little actual work she does. She's made a strong statement that it would be unacceptable for everyone to keep working from home long term. Also a dig about me not putting my camera on for zoom meetings!!

There's one person that I know who is milking it out as long as possible but he was lazy at work anyway

Oh, I agree, Gwenhwyfar. I was just citing young people because if everyone now "should" wfh then they will never get the chance to meet and interact with colleagues. Zooming is ok when you already know people, but does anyone meet a new group through zooming?

Dn is currently furloughed from a law firm, and has been told that going forward when work picks up she will permanently be working at home. She is quite depressed; at 23 you don't want to sit all day in a studio flat by yourself.
