Is it me, or does this give me a certain je ne sais quoi?

I've started using it in work emails, example:

Hi,

I'll send it to you shortly -

Regards,

Managed

sauvignonblancplz · 22/05/2020 18:24

😂😂😂😂

Cambionome · 22/05/2020 18:24

Confused Why would you do that?

thistimelastweek · 22/05/2020 18:24

.... Or punctuation!

PhilCornwall1 · 22/05/2020 18:25

Is it me, or does this give me a certain je ne sais quoi?

It's you.

puppypuppypuppypuppy · 22/05/2020 18:27

Reverse about your annoying colleague?

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 22/05/2020 18:27

@=-'":;-(;:'-&-&-&-&%$#@

MaternitySpongeBob · 22/05/2020 18:27

It looks... unfinished.

Stop it. Now.

Queenoftheashes · 22/05/2020 18:28

It’s annoying

Thingsdogetbetter · 22/05/2020 18:29

That's not an accurate use of - . It doesn't make any sense. It should be used like brackets to signify extra info. Not as a full stop or comma to signify a new clause.

Work will think you're barking! Or can't use punctuation. Or both!

TheMandalorian · 22/05/2020 18:29

Just stick with a tiny heart at the end♡
Much more professional. Also acceptable to swap the tittle or diacritac dot for hearts too.

AdaColeman · 22/05/2020 18:31

It’s like the old “Send three and fourpence, we’re going to a dance” joke. It doesn’t actually get the message across.

EatsShootsAndRuns · 22/05/2020 18:31

It looks like you've either missed out half a sentence or are just thick.

iklboo · 22/05/2020 18:32

No. It looks like you've deleted half your sentence. It's not yoonique or quirky. Just annoying.

NatashaAlianovaRomanova · 22/05/2020 18:34

You mean just at the end of a sentence?

I use it sometimes in work emails along the lines of

Hi

I have spoken with the above client and they have advised that we should go ahead for Jill, Sue & Alex - still waiting on confirmation regarding John.

Best wishes
Nat

Not because it gives me je ne sais quoi but because I want to convey that it relates to the previous but is additional info.

happypoobum · 22/05/2020 18:34

Reverse?

UnaCorda · 22/05/2020 18:35

Aargh, I hate it when people make up their own ersatz punctuation rules,,,, like using.... ellipses and random, commas after... every other,,, word.

We already have a full range of perfectly clear and functional syntax and punctuation marks.

Witchend · 22/05/2020 18:36

I would assume a typo if I got that.

Moonshinemisses · 22/05/2020 18:36

Is your colleague getting to you with their quirky punctuation Op?. My Dh boss puts a ? at the end of his sentences. Its weird but amusing

Fivefourthree · 22/05/2020 18:38

I occasionally use one in place of a semi colon.

UnaCorda · 22/05/2020 18:41

I even hate it when people put an extra space before a question mark or exclamation mark, and that's a mild misdemeanour compared to this heinous crime against SPAG.

Carrie7469 · 22/05/2020 18:42

It's just wrong. Stop it!

HildaWazzo · 22/05/2020 18:44

Have you been reading Emily Dickinson?
