Staring at a screen on hold and they are open 07:00 to 24:00

I think I know what trying to say

But surely 07:00 to 23:59 would be better?

I'd probably write 0700-0000.

Sandsnake · 21/05/2020 14:22

Yeah, it’s 00:00.

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 21/05/2020 15:02

You are right OP Its not a time

My youngest DS makes me laugh though as he will refer to something as "50 past" instead of , what is usual to me, "10 too".

Abbccc · 21/05/2020 15:03

Yes it's a time....

Youngatharte · 21/05/2020 15:04

It’s 00:00 YANBU

UnfinishedSymphon · 21/05/2020 15:05

Nah, 24 isn't shown on any clockface but you always get 12 or 24 hour setting options on clocks

I'd say 00.00 too

chomalungma · 21/05/2020 15:06

I just got through on the support chat. Should I mention it Grin

He'd love the Dutch way of telling the time - instead of saying '25 past 3', they say' 5 before half 4'. Mind, my DM always used to say '5 and 20 to/past' rather than '25 to/past', as did her DM (my DGM). I don't know if that was a regional Midlands thing for a certain generation?

Isn't that the reason why you called in the first place - to complain about their incorrect time rendering? You mean to say you had another matter as well?!

I'm reminded of the Mitchell & Webb sketch where there was a 'milk helpline' number given on the side of the bottles and it turned out that every single caller only did so to ask what possible reason anybody could have for needing to call a milk helpline - except for one young girl who called to ask if it was true that you get banana milkshake by milking monkeys Grin

Grin

Yes - but noticed this whilst waiting.

Nearly as good as the turkey butterball helpline in West Wing

I'm going to beg to differ and say that it is a time Smile

blacksax · 21/05/2020 15:35

It can be both - like the same musical note can have two different names depending on what you're using it for.

C# is the same key on the piano as Db for instance.

cstaff · 21/05/2020 15:58

24.00 doesn't exist. It goes 23.59 to 00.00 and 00.01 and so on. You would never see 24.05 so to those of you who say that it does exist, is it only for 1 minute then.

Cabinfever10 · 21/05/2020 16:02

I've only ever hurd Americans say "twenty four hundred hours "

ClaudiaWankleman · 21/05/2020 16:15

They have the same sound frequency but they are different notes I think.

Regardless, it's not the same. There is no 25th hour in a day, so there can be no 24:00.

PlanDeRaccordement · 21/05/2020 16:17

Yes 24.00 is a time on a rocket count down....24 minutes to launch.

@WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll
