To send DC to a new nursery first week of June?

DC (aged 1 and 4) go to a local nursery which is part of a big chain. DH and I work full time from home and it's been very difficult to say the least - we are desperate for the nurseries to re-open.

Unfortunately our nursery has announced that it will not reopen in June as there is not enough demand. They do have another local branch that is opening, so the option is to send them there. None of the other parent at the nursery are sending DC (they will probably wait until September when all the 4 year olds start school anyway) so it will be a different group of children.

And I doubt we will be able to help them settle, drop off at door etc. So it's a difficult decison. However we need to both work full time as at the moment have secure roles that we don't want to give up. WWYD.

DH and I are under constant pressure sharing childcare and working. We work weekends too to catch up and haven't had a day off for months. I just want to enjoy the weekends with the kids instead of under the constant pressure of catching up on work.

WWYD?

I don't think you have much choice I would send them to the nursery that is open. Kids adjust to new things. They will enjoy having new people around. Go easy on yourself you are trying to do the best. You can all have a great time together at the weekends.

Our nursery has said they're not allowed to accept new children in June. Are you sure you can send them to the new nursery?

If you can do.The benefit to you all will outweigh the possible risks.
Take back your weekends.

I run a nursery- we'll be having a few new children. In a weird way it will be quieter and possibly a nice introduction for them.

In your situation I totally would

@Howdidido my sons nursery is part of a national chain with around 3-4 nurseries around my house that belong to them. Whilst they’ve been taking key workers kids they’ve been using ours as the main one. In June If there is not enough kids to open the 3 of them I guess they’ll be doing the same just open a few and maybe move the kids ro another one to fill spaces.
