This is fucking mental. Kids should not be dressing up as over-sexualised parodies of women. Why have they seen adult drag anyway to get their ideas from?

Seriously disturbing.

fiveforty · 21/05/2020 13:10

The outfits are incredibly revealing

Fucking hell. Grooming in plain sight and celebrated.

GoldenBlue · 21/05/2020 13:16

To be fair the outfits aren't that different to children's competition disco outfits.

The parents were surprisingly emphatic about not allowing the child to do things that would sexualise them.

At least they are not claiming that these boys are girls. They are treating drag as a costume based art form.

I understand some women are offended by parodies of women but there is a history or dames, drag acts etc, and similarly pantomime princes and drag kings.

I thought I was going to be offended but whilst eccentric the parents seemed to have the children's interests at heart

Then disco outfits are also a problem.

The parents were surprisingly emphatic about not allowing the child to do things that would sexualise them.

The children were doing loads that sexualised them.

You were so horrified you decided to post screenshots.

Soubriquet · 21/05/2020 13:43

My dd wore less when doing things like acrobats.

But it wasn’t sexual like a drag act is

I saw it yesterday and made sure I didn’t click on it so they didn’t get the viewing number from me

Kids are kids. Let them dress up as they wish but why let them post it online or on TV? Especially when it’s a sexual thing

CaveMum · 21/05/2020 13:48

I didn’t see the show, deliberately chose not to watch it. Regardless of what many parents claim, it is sexual.

Have you seen the footage of “Desmond” dancing in a highly provocative manner whilst surrounded by older men in a gay club? If that’s not child exploitation/grooming I don’t know what is.

MorganKitten · 21/05/2020 13:49

Grooming in plain sight and celebrated.

How is it grooming?

fiveforty · 21/05/2020 14:13

What's wrong with me taking pictures @SoupDragon it's a public show.

OP posts:

It's grooming because it's dissolving boundaries between adults and children in a slow and subtle manner which allows predators to take advantage much more easily.

@MorganKitten in the case of “Desmond is Amazing” (who is now 12 years old) he was filmed dancing in an adult gay club in a sexualised manner, surrounded by older men who threw money at him.

The NSPCC definition of grooming is:

“Grooming is when someone builds a relationship, trust and emotional connection with a child or young person so they can manipulate, exploit and abuse them. Children and young people who are groomed can be sexually abused, exploited or trafficked. Anybody can be a groomer, no matter their age, gender or race.”

If an underage child dancing for adult men is not exploitation, I don’t know what is.
