Every day I see stuff on my local Facebook about food - including cakes, lunches, sandwiches often made by restaurants who haven’t got any customers at the moment, being delivered to our local hospital and/or doctors surgeries and care homes. We have a couple of friends who are hospital staff who say that these donations are often just thrown away as either people don’t fancy what is brought in, have got their own lunch/dinner or have dietary requirements which mean they can’t eat the donations.
AIBU to think that the donors should at least ask the intended recipients if they actually want the food, and that to a certain extent the making of donations is a kind of virtue signalling?
