Aibu to wonder if, like the furlough scheme, Rishi Sunak will also extend the help for the self employed?

Very happy to see my grant money arrive this morning......i doubt there will be anymore.
Universal credit also paid me my first payment today.
Im expecting them to now canel my claim due to the one payment I had.
I will then have to go through the whole process again (this is all me guessing.)

Grateful for the grant here too.

I naively thought at first that I’d barely be affected as I work freelance from home anyway - but the whole supply chain needs to work, and nothing was being sent out or commissioned. Plus, I usually make a decent amount covering holidays for in-house staff - and no one is going on holiday!

Gardener here, can technically work, but if customers dont want us (time to do it themselves) or cant have us (shielding or no income) then we cannot work. At the minute, we have 1, maybe 2 days work a fortnight, and cant see it changing for a while.

I'm another SE dogwalker. A very few clients (about 10%) offered to pay a retainer, bless them, another 10% have continued to use me once we'd worked out a safe way of doing it, and another 10% have started using me again in the past two weeks. No sign of any of the others coming back anytime soon, about 30% have definitely lost massive amounts of income as they are in entertainment or catering and about 10% have already been made redundant. The teachers (about 25%) will need me again but have no idea when, consensus is probably not until September. However I do have pre-bookings for three pups so far so at least there is something to look forward to.

I was hoping for some thing this evening!

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 28/05/2020 18:35

He did say ‘you’ll be hearing more’ and then stopped himself quickly when answering a question about it.

I’m hopeful!
