To think that most people actually don’t care about COVID any more?

Traffic on the roads is back to where it was pre lockdown, both day and night.

My parents just went to the shop and said that no-one was social distancing and the shop staff weren’t enforcing it.

At the weekend there were groups of teenagers gathering on the green behind my house.

I’m shielding due to being clinically vulnerable, but from what I’m hearing and seeing (the people out the back) those who are going out are pretty much back to normal now.

P.S. I did actually report the teenagers as there were about fifteen of them with a stereo and from the smell were smoking weed out there, but the police didn’t actually do anything so clearly aren’t enforcing any rules anyway which is why most people no longer care.

Quite a generalisation though OP. It isn't as though you have interviewed 'most people' so that is total conjecture.

There will be more traffic on the roads as people have been told to return to work if it is at all possible and also been told they may exercise as many times as they like and drive to do so at any time Confused. People don't just work during thr day so you would expect traffic at all hours. DP I'd a key worker and often works 4am to 2pm or 2pm to 10pm.

The police themselves have said they lack the resources to enforce every single infraction which I'd have thought was obvious. The fact they didnt attend the one you reported doesn't really stand up as evidence that they as a global entity are 'not enforcing rules'.

Some people have been flouting lockdown for all of it, DP (the key worker who is out in public) can confirm that. There is simply a higher volume of people out now, because we have told we can be. It is nigh on impossible to enforce social distancing in shops etc when the numbers creep up.

It's nothing like that where I am (South Coast) Everyone appears to be adhering to the rules.

People I speak to are still very aware of the dangers and are staying home as much as they can, and keeping to SD when they do go out.

Lailaloo747 · 19/05/2020 12:41

I think the volume of traffic has increased because people have been told to go back to work if they can’t work from home. Also, you can now drive to places to exercise as many times a day as you want.
My local Co op is still enforcing very strict social distancing rules, as are Tesco and Waitrose. Morrisons is a free for all though. They’ve removed all the markers on the floor and people are all over the place.

I'm South coast too and it's definitely busier than it has been!

YABU. Yesterday my local park was full of families and one to one meetings observing social distancing, including 2 teenage girls who had brought their own picnic.

It seems to largely depend on the area. I have a friend in the North East who works in an area where all the children have played out throughout, and their local case numbers are very high.

BeetrootRocks · 19/05/2020 12:46

Same round here op.

Traffic back to nearly normal, social distancing is half hearted. People having get togethers etc

Onone · 19/05/2020 12:49

I thought I didn’t care anymore until I woke up with a headache and just generally feeling off,I was fine after a few hours but I did actually panic

bridgetreilly · 19/05/2020 12:53

Actually they have been told to go to work if they can't work from home. Which is the same as the advice has always been.

I think a lot of people have had enough of “protecting the NHS” at the expense of their own happiness, health, wellbeing and financial security and frankly don’t give 2 shits any more.
