To worry about covid transmission

On a walk today and realised our kids (friends child) had drunk from the same cup. I am now worrying myself sick didn’t see it coming and feel so negligent. Apparantly they took the lid of tipped it in the others mouth without touching then put the water bottle lid back on (that you drink from) so worried about this now have I been really stupid

Well, you can't do anything about it now.

You could try consciously directing your thoughts to,other things when worrying creeps in.

And I suggest you remove yourself from all events where households mix in future. Completely for now, and only reintroduce with considerably better social distancing when gatherings of more than 2 are permitted again

I think I’d worry less about the water and more about the fact that in order to do that they were probably less than 2m a part for quite a while...
However, as long as neither child has covid it isn’t an issue and if both households have been socially distancing properly for 7 weeks the overwhelming probability is they haven’t.

You and your child shouldn’t be with your friend’s child anyway, so if you were happy to break the rules and do that, why are you suddenly so worried now?

Fluffybutter · 18/05/2020 13:08

This is a joke surely ?

TheRoyallingStones · 18/05/2020 13:11

You’re worrying yourself sick over this but aren’t following the rules about only one person from your household meeting one person from another household? Ok Hmm

Worrying now won’t do anything for anyone. Unless either child happens to have covid19 (still statistically only a very small chance) All you can do is stop having meetings of multiple people from multiple households to avoid this happening again.

opticaldelusion · 18/05/2020 13:14

Seems odd to be so relaxed you flout the rules about social distancing but then worry about a very unlikely event.

The chances of any of the kids having Covid are, I assume, very small.

Odd because it’s probably BS typed up by someone who has too much time on their hands
