To ask what you've done to cheer yourself up this week

I posted a few weeks asking if people had brought themselves treats, which was brilliant as so many people were rightfully splurging on themselves when lockdown started. Just interested what you're all up to now that the panic has calmed a little and the 'new normal' is emerging.

I'm still clutching at moments right now battling with a two year old and a four month old with DH wfh (I'm on 'mat leave').
This week I brought some facial care stuff. Not sure I needed it but my new routine means I get 10minutes at the start and end of my day ALL TO MYSELF which means I bloody love it.
I've also started a book (to read whilst hiding) and started binge watching after life when the kids go to bed.

Small wins, but reasons to smile atm. What have you done?

Been feeling absolutely crap with very heavy period and I had my upcoming gastric bypass cancelled yesterday (all because of covid so spent yesterday crying- it was just supposed to be the start of me feeling happier and able to look in the mirror!)

So tonight DH came up with an idea that we would order an Indian take away, my favourite

And the family are sitting down and doing some mood boards, pretty much decorating pieces of paper with the things were most looking forward to when we return to normality to get us all feeling better and looking toward the future.

Now suspicious the now infamous m&s pie poster was a plant doing an underground marketing campaign to drum up sales Grin

I bought myself some tulips this week and I can’t believe how much something so simple has really made me smile! I never buy flowers but they should have been £6 and they were reduced to 20p!! They’re lovely, didn’t cost much and put a smile on my face every time I see them 🌷

Made a chocolate dessert consisting solely of fat & sugar with a dose of carb. Offered a piece to DS, and was secretly thrilled when the weird little fucker didn't want it and i was forced to eat his piece. #mummywin

Hahaha @GrumpiestOldWoman I also bought a pie, inspired by that thread!

I bought myself some clothes from F&F at Tesco. Everything 50% off and I got some lovely bits. Dresses and tops mainly. Was very pleased.

Gone to work!

I run a company that may, or may not, survive the pandemic along with one day/night at another job I get so much out of.

My colleagues at my part time job are fab, and to top last night off Greggs delivered a crate of food as we are the only other building open at the minute.

We were all stupidly excited to be eating sausage rolls and pasties.

I just spent a small fortune on fancy shampoo and conditioner, and a little bottle of moroccan oil. My hair is highlighted and has been feeling like straw, so I’m excited for it to arrive and work its magic Grin

I made Nadiya Husssain's smarties cookie dough and it was amazing. I also cleaned out everyone's wardrobes which I have been meaning to do for a while. I have been overinduging a lot since lockdown started. Beginning of June will be started with a weigh in and some serious exercise. Dh has been told I will not be baking for the foreseeable.

I have also touched up my roots and bought a lovely face wash.
