This is not a flounce because I plan to be back but I am done with watching people winding each other up.

Yes CV19 is bad but at some point we have to learn to live with it. That is a fact.

The terror needs to stop. We all got "nudged" too far. At some point, be it now, September or next year, we have to come to peace with the new reality.

I have shielding parents and a shielding son, I have a daughter who is NHS (an ODP) a daughter who works in a supermarket and three kids at school. I get it, I really do. But even my father (with COPD) said that the fear exhibited by young healthy people is disproportionate.

Coming on here is is bad for me and I would suggest, bad for others too. So I'm off.

Night night

Take care.

MN is your homepage? THAT is commitment. I bet you'll be back tomorrow, you certainly won't be able to go cold turkey!

TinRoofRusty · 16/05/2020 05:31

Excellent post. I cannot agree more. Hope to 'see' you soon. You're a star.

AvalancheKit · 16/05/2020 06:08

Flouncid-20

A new and mysterious disease first noticed on Mumsnet in the U.K. in mid-May.

pictish · 16/05/2020 06:14

I agree that MN is batshit (well, more batshit than the usual batshit) at the moment but I’m not sure why you’re announcing that you’re leaving but will occasionally comment by choice. We all comment occasionally...that’s how forums work. Leave, don’t leave, comment or don’t. It’s fine. You don’t need to let us know.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 16/05/2020 06:29

Oh dear OP you've also made me smile with your "occasional comments by choice" comment. I find that kind of sweet.

I think the vast majority of people are just muddling through this pandemic and hoping for the best. Stress, financial worries, health concerns, trying to home school yet still work, cancelled holidays and family holidays, a very marked difference in normal life - well all this sometimes brings out the worst in people. And when someone is having a bad day and posting on MN it can get ugly I guess.

Perhaps we should cut "the dementors" a little slack too?

Silvercatowner · 16/05/2020 06:45

Mumsnet was your homepage? Blimey...

dottiedodah · 16/05/2020 07:02

Im the opposite ! Have really found MN a good place to go to in lockdown TBH .Unless its a personal attack on someone ,then what is wrong with a healthy debate? Other forums I am on have been less kind than this one ! I avoid obviously goady threads .

JinglingHellsBells · 16/05/2020 07:33

Sorry but it IS a flounce. No one here knows you and , sorry, but no one cares what you think or whether you use MN or not.
I too have given up on the Coronavirus section of MN as I am tired of people asking obvious questions over what they can do, and also reading about so many people bending the rules.

But I'm not going to start my own thread on it because no one cares!
@PyongyangKipperbang

EthelMayFergus · 16/05/2020 07:38

Take care Pyongyang, look forward to 'seeing' you when the crazy time's over.

LivingThatLockdownLife · 16/05/2020 07:47

Best flounce. I've NC which feels like a flounce but without having to actually stop going on MN. Lockdown sucks!

lovemelongtime · 16/05/2020 07:48

And ?????

Mawbags · 16/05/2020 07:54

Who cares? Leave, don’t leave.

Or admit that you’re throwing your toys out of the pram

wildcherries · 16/05/2020 07:55

I mean, you're right that MN is crazier than usual. But it's amusing that you maintain this isn't a flounce. I hope no one ever forced you to post.

I hope you and your family stay healthy.

KatherineJaneway · 16/05/2020 08:04

This is not a flounce

😂😂😂

TwentyViginti · 16/05/2020 08:27

Right, I'm going to do the same. Just post when I want to.

Like everyone else here Hmm

Annabk · 16/05/2020 08:28

How postmodern.
“I’m commenting on an internet forum to say I won’t be commenting on this forum anymore.”
P.S “I still may comment from time to time”.

Lynda07 · 16/05/2020 16:47

Annabk, I agree with you. I post on one other forum where a poster often does that. Starts a thread saying she's had enough, she's going. All she has to do is go! She always comes back too - even after being banned on at least one occasion, she has asked to return.

People are weird. If someone wants to leave, either permanently or temporarily, they can do so but there is no need to start a thread about it to invite comments.

Thighmageddon · 16/05/2020 16:50

Off to flouncers corner with you!

Be gone flouncer Grin

VodselForDinner · 16/05/2020 16:51

But even my father (with COPD) said that the fear exhibited by young healthy people is disproportionate

Shhhhh women, a man has spoken, and he thinks you’re all being very silly ladies indeed.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 16/05/2020 17:19

‘This is absolutely not a flounce, but I’m starting a thread to announce I’m going rather than just going. And I’m not actually going’.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 16/05/2020 17:20

Shhhhh women, a man has spoken, and he thinks you’re all being very silly ladies indeed.

That’s a bit wanky.

sparepantsandtoothbrush · 16/05/2020 17:25

I'm going to assume the majority of posters don't know who the OP is (I certainly don't!). So what's the point of telling people you're "leaving" if it isn't a flounce?!

If you want to moan and bitch about the way people are slightly hysterical at the moment then do that....or dont? Nobody cares!
