To ask about your period and if it's ever changed?

And whether you've ever been to the GP over it?

I always always used to have a fairly standard 4/5 day period, not too heavy, a bit grumpy and a few cramps but nothing awful.

However, I had a miscarriage a while ago and since then my periods seem to have changed completely. Like they sort of reset as did my symptoms?

Now they are really heavy but only last maximum of about 2 days. However my mood is fucking awful. I am genuinely horrid to be around, I'm moody, I can be mean, I feel so low and angry every time. I want to quit my job, I want to leave my marriage, everyone infuriates me for about a week and a half and then I'm fine again.

WIBU to speak to the GP about this? Its like I seriously feel depressed for a week and a half every month, not just a bit grumpy but seriously low.

Does anyone else get this?

I have pcos but my periods were pretty regular, but a few days before and for about a week after I felt so down. Hard to drag myself out of bed down and could be horrible at times. I was prescribed sertraline to take for 10 days a month. Took a couple of months but it really did work!

Thanks Chelle. I did have sertraline at the time of the miscarriage and I found it made me feel really ill for the first week. Did you find this every month if you were only taking them 10 days a month?

I had a D&C in Dec 2017 and afterwards I was extremely irritable, angry and self destructive in the days leading up to my period. It took about 18 months but things did eventually calm down and I was back to normal. I honestly believe it was all hormones from a discontinued pregnancy coupled with the emotion of the situation.

I felt pretty crappy for the first couple of months and then it settled down. The side effects for me, outweighed how low I felt. Hormonal contraception isn't an option for me (I have chronic migraine) it seemed my only choice but it did work. I think not being on it all the time helped too. I hope you get some relief soon, it's miserable being so angry and down but also not wanting to be angry and down Thanks
