I just can't cope anymoreSad - it's 11pm and just finishing up for the night after a day home schooling 2 kids (8 and 6) from 9am to lunch time as both need to be sat with for approx two hours each, then plug them into devices or tv, when I try to work full time from home.
I can do job 100% remotely and in my work we are busier than ever due to COVID! But I'm effectively doing two jobs and I'm just exhausted.
Work are flexible when I do my hours but need to get stuff done and am falling behind, I do kids first as they need to work in the morning - my DH works full time out of home- back today at 8pm!!
Furlough is not an option for either of us as we are needed in our jobs more than ever!
I think I'm going to crack....

If it makes you feel better, mine are pretty much left to their own devices. This has them doing things like watching vast quantities of YouTube, drawing, playing and programming Roblox, playing other video games, making YouTube music videos and the older one gets on with stuff the school send him. Every now and then I do an activity with them, like cooking, gardening, nerd guns, getting them to set up a family quiz etc...

If I tried to do a full timetable alongside my work I'd have a nervous breakdown quite quickly and there would be a lot of conflict so I've decided this is how I'm going to do it.
Fwiw I was a primary teacher for 10 years.

I hear you. I’ve got a 15 month old so working from home is absolute carnage even with 2 of us here.

Looking after a toddler is a full time job on it’s own.

I also have a 16 year old doing advanced highers, trying to help as best I can, she’s doing maths, biology and chemistry so I can at least help with the maths as I have a degree in it but I’ve never done chemistry 🙁

I’m so worried about how she’ll do, she’s shielding too do will be one of the last to go back to school.

Ah thanks everyone - I know it's probably bit selfish but does make me feel better knowing I'm not the only one who can't cope- my 6yo is struggling with reading- he was put on an intervention program (Harbinson) before shutdown but point blank refuses to do it with me - I am really worried about every week falling more and more behind as it's a significant time period for young learner - my 8yo is coping better but also behind at reading - dyslexic so needs a lot of input - if something has to give it will have to be work and I'll have to take the consequences
I just had one of the first full days off today and feel so so much better for it - had sleep in - then went back to bed for a nap in afternoon- I realise now I am so exhausted.
