Just pondering over the return to primary schools and wondered how many are actually still doing regular homelearning with their primary kids?

E.g a few hours a day of worksheets, online, some sort of learning?

YABU = Yes, still home learning
YANBU = Not currently/haven’t ever

We have a reception aged child, a 2 year old and both wfh so pretty full on. We have never done the whole home schooling thing with timetables.

We read together every day as part of daily life, and sometimes our 5 year old writes a letter to family, we try to watch the more educational programmes like Maddy how does it work, number blocks and that's about it. We play, bake, go on nature walks, scavenger hunts, play dough etc.

School hasn't been setting any formal learning, they send suggested activities like playing shops with real money, planting seeds and learning how they grow, timing how fast to run around the garden, the odd suggested maths game online. They don't send worksheets or set tasks. So I feel like if that's all they're expecting we don't need to do any more. Different if you have older kids though.

I should pay Nintendo and Microsoft for their childminding services !

Yesterday they came
Off the devices and played outside with their swords
The noise and eventual violence was so much that I almost think screens are better !!!!

Thank you @zoemum2006 - good reminder!

Everyone is trying their best but really we need centralised online teaching in my opinion. Few ppl can go on as they are.
