Would I be weird to get some pasta?

I felt very peckish so I prepared some pickled vegetables, some soup, a veggie stew with bread and yogurt and cake to finish it off.
I ate all of the bread, half of the yogurt, all of the cake and some of the juice of the stew...
I didn't really enjoy it today however I do have leftover pasta from yesterday.
It's very delicious pasta with aubergines, chicken and peppers in it, it's spicy too and I have found myself craving it.
It's been about ten minutes since I ate my meal.
Normally I find myself getting up in the night to make some food as a snack for when I can't sleep, but i'm honestly not sure whether to eat my pasta or not, especially after having just eaten yogurt and cake! Shock

Would I be unreasonable to go and get some pasta? Grin

Same here GameSetMatch
.
And I've got to hide the bugger in my knicker drawer so that no-one finds it and scoffs it before I have the chance.

OP - you want it - you eat it.

FreakStar · 13/05/2020 19:30

Eh? You didn't eat the stew, just the juice? What a weird thread! Is it supposed to be funny or something? I don't get it...

MouthBreathingRage · 13/05/2020 19:30

What an odd meal and an even odder way to eat it!

As I said, the OP has started a few interesting threads of late.

DysonFury · 13/05/2020 19:33

Stew Juice. Yum.

Bluntness100 · 13/05/2020 19:34

Meh, if you’re dieting or wish to loose weight, then probably not a good idea,

If neither of those apply, do what you wish, you don’t need to ask permission,

It isn't an odd meal, i'm middle eastern and it's what we eat there... Sad

Why have you now posted a photo of your pasta? Eat it, don't eat it; we all know what pasta looks like 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yerroblemom1923 · 13/05/2020 19:38

I like your tablecloth! Good for you, I'm glad you had the pasta. A wise move I feel.

SlightyJaded · 13/05/2020 19:38

You ate the juice of the stew but not the stew - so savoury liquid
Some soup - more liquid
Yoghurt - liquid
Bread and Cake - Carb overload.

It's a strange old combo and I'm not suprised you are thinking about the pasta - it's probably the chicken/protein you are craving.

But why you would ask us is beyond me.

And yes to the competitive minimalist eating - one roast chicken lasts a month and does four nights for a family of five on mumsnet.

Bluntness100 · 13/05/2020 19:38

What do you mean you eat only the stew juice where you’re from?

topazdiamondsandemeralds · 13/05/2020 19:39

As for recipe Smile

Chop up one large aubergine, with one full garlic (dice the garlic), five spicy peppers and some onion too. Then add it into a pot with some little strips of chicken, then add a bit of tomato pasta sauce, just a bit, and add seasonings like cumin, add it to the pasta and yum yum yum Smile

I don't only eat the stew juice, the stew was a specific type from where i'm from and I only had the juice as I wasn't feeling like eating the stew chunks.

I’ve been really interested in Middle Eastern food since there were a few dishes on masterchef. I looked for local Middle Eastern restaurants but they seemed to be more kebabs and grills- more for British palette I guess.

tara66 · 13/05/2020 19:42

I was undecided because you did not say if it was a whole cake you ate and how much bread was it - a loaf?

topazdiamondsandemeralds · 13/05/2020 19:42

@Karwomannghia See if a place near you offers börek. Fucking delicious, you won't regret it.

topazdiamondsandemeralds · 13/05/2020 19:43

It was just half a flatbread with a small square of cake. Smile

Is your pasta haunted?

tara66 · 13/05/2020 19:45

Is it still Ramadan?
Ramadan Kareem.

Karwomannghia · 13/05/2020 19:45

Ok I will! Thanks for the tip!

Triggahippy · 13/05/2020 19:45

This is mumsnet. Two mouthfuls of diner and a side order of air is MORE than enough

Karwomannghia · 13/05/2020 19:46

I just assume stew juice is like stock or gravy?

tinkiiev · 13/05/2020 19:47

Definitely eat the pasta.

I love that you posted a picture of it Grin

Meal sounded delicious.

MouthBreathingRage · 13/05/2020 19:47

@tara66, I don't think the OP is following Ramadan. It's still light outside and they've evidently been eating before dusk (apologies if I'm wrong about that though).

topazdiamondsandemeralds · 13/05/2020 19:48

I'm not doing ramadan as i'm pregnant Smile
