I'm so bored.

I'm liking being at home and not having to work and still getting paid. I know I'm lucky but I'm boooooored.

I started lockdown by helping DD with her online school work except its become a bit less work than at the start of lockdown. Like the teachers can no longer be arsed either. So DD is bored too.

DD and I have been baking, doing housework, walking the dog, DD has been practicing her music lessons, facetiming friends.

I'm eating like a pig out of boredom and I'm not really sticking to my slimming world group. My gym has online classes now but its not the same so I haven't really been doing it.

The local university were offering free online courses. I started one. Now I've given up as its not really interesting.

I've lost all motivation and routine.

Help. How do I keep myself motivated, busy, healthy and fit???

I am only leaving the house to exercise. DH is a key worker and therefore is able to get our food shopping so that only one person in our house is going out.

I don't know how anyone could be bored, there is so much to do. I only wish I had time to do anything - DC, homeschooling, work, life admin and housework seem to take all the time. Get back on track with DD's schoolwork, if her age allows there's also BBC Bitesize and Oak Academy; get back into your slimming world, gym classes, university course. Films, documentaries on bbc iplayer, tv, books, yoga on YouTube etc etc. There is so much to keep busy with.

I am keeping myself busy by going for long dog walks, doing yoga, studying the language I'm learning, knitting, hanging out with dh and the dc and re-watching Game of Thrones!

I get you OP, I'm just bored a lot of the time.

I'm still working 9-5 four days a week so only have my usual three days off work. However I'm usually at the gym every evening but instead I do my online workout at 5pm and am showered and all done by 6pm. Then we eat and are finished by 7.30 which makes for a long evening.

I have jobs to do (painting walls, glossing skirting boards, tidying out the sheds, weeding) but I can never be bothered to start these kind of jobs at 7.30 in the evening!

I exercise daily, read, cook, clean, sunbathe, play games with the kids, but I like every hour of my day to be filled. So many people say watch Netflix and catch up on box sets but you can't do this every day and an hour of tv in the evenings is enough for me.

I just want the routine of being back in the office, the gym, walking, going shopping, coffee with friends. I'm shielding so it's been a long 7 weeks... 😣

Working from home full time and supporting 2 children with their school work plus keeping the occupied and motivated when their work is completed. Single parent so it’s all pretty full on. Would love the opportunity to do more gardening, bake sourdough bread and finish the book I stated weeks ago!

Tiramisuiloveyou · 12/05/2020 22:50

I am working pt from home, usual housework, combining dog walking with exercise, sewing, online food shops, growing things in the garden, clearing out junk and more recently supporting my mum since my elderly father passed away with covid, emotionally, with household bills and organising my father funeral.
I was doing a virtual local online walking dancing to music group, playing stand up bingo virtually, quiz virtually, meditation virtually, virtual coffee mornings etc.

I'm on maternity leave
Just sent off the last essay for my part time degree so now I'm having to fill my time
I'm pre reading for next years module
Pissing about with learning a new language half arsedly
Signed up for some free course
Think I'll update my cv
Want to learn to crotchet
I've got a resin Jewellery making kit I want to try
Still fucking bored though . Feel like I'm slipping into depression . I'd be happy if I get out once a day but it's been pissing it down lately

I’ve redecorated a bedroom, redecorated the front vestibule, painted my sisters conservatory, replaced a piece of glass side panel) in her hall doorway. Pimped my daughters old dolls house for my granddaughter, bought and replaced the hair on my 65 year old doll from my childhood and made a new dress for it. Knitted a doll with clothes for her as well and done four jigsaw puzzles. I can’t do any more in my greenhouse because the garden centres are not open yet. I’m also doing online yoga a few times a week.

Lots more cleaning as I am insistent on a tidy, clean house And my cleaner has been off since the beginning of lockdown. She used to come 3 times a week. Not sure when we will have her back as DH not comfortable having her back yet.

More cooking as everyone home for all 3 meals.

I’ve taken up knitting - something I never did before. I’ve made 3 scarves, 4 hats, and now I am working on a fair isle jumper for the dog.

Still exercising, but now I can’t do a separate dog walk (now I think I can with the easing of restrictions) and the dog is a slow runner, so she has really brought my pace down. Not a problem as more than a third of my running route has restrictions against running currently on.
