Aiming for weight loss but also to be healthy. I'm almost 40, 5'8 and 14 stone - yikes! Fairly active, have done 10,000 steps today. Today I've had:
Porridge (50g oats, 250ml skimmed milk, handful frozen berries)
Melon and strawberries
Sandwich (2 slices wholemeal regular sized bread, flora light, thick cut slice of ham) and soup (homemade cauliflower, carrot, onion, stock, tikka spices) and 4 olives
Frozen mash 200g, baby corn, tenderstem broccoli, 3 small skinless boneless chicken thighs, nandos spice rub
Give me your thoughts on if this is going to work? Calories? Macros? Is it sustainable? Normal? What would you change? Can I have a snack tonight?!!
What would you eat in a day for weight loss?

I'd always go for chicken thighs over breasts for texture and taste but I do trim the extra fat off first

Sounds great to me. But the. This was my diet today:

Breakfast: Quaker porridge oat sachet and a mint tea

Lunch: ham salad sandwich, apple, banana

Tea: pork chop, no fat, broccoli, baby corn and rice

Supper: large chocolate cake slice, a flake, a french fancy, a bag of crisp followed by a crisp sandwich and two jammy dodgers.

Still hungry but resisting the urge.

Looks like about 1500/1600 calories to me which should result in slow weight loss for you. Borderline too many calories.

I would just use MyFitnessPal and be done with it. I don’t bother with macros, just calories. I lost 5.5 stone baby weight that way last year. I’m the same age as you, and to lose consistently I needed to be well under 1500 (even whilst breastfeeding, but I am shorter than you at 5’5”).
