Possible heart issue or anxiety?

Hi ladies, posting in AIBU for traffic.

I am not sure if this is possibly anxiety or heart issues? I have family history with my grandpa having 6 heart attacks and an issue with mine as a baby. Last night very suddenly and for about 20 minutes or so, I had very sore pain in one side above my chest and over the toilet in case I vomited (sorry!) as felt nauseous. sweating, too warm all of a sudden and with Diarrhea. I then vomited and felt a little better. Went to bed last night, with a very slightly tingly arm but again that could have been anxiety. no more vomiting, no more diarrhea. Slight chest tightness today but I do have anxiety quite often so could have been this. It all could have been due to this. For peace of mind I have called my GP surgery and will call tomorrow morning for a phone appointment due to history. Although not the best time for this to happen! I thought I would see if you ladies had any advice and maybe have had a similar thing happen. I am early 20s and have never had this happen to this extent before. Thanks

Obviously you need checking out but rest assured that vomiting and diarrhoea are rarely indicative of heart issues on their own, sounds digestive.

Hi OP

You definitely need to get checked, even if it's just for a peace of mind, please dnt be afraid to go to the doctors or hospital, you could wear a mask and gloves, and wash your hands loads, you will be very save, but please get checked.

All the best.

Not to scare you but women often do have digestive issues (including big bowel movements) before heart attacks. Your symptoms are exactly what my aunt experienced. If it happens again go stright to A&E

Feetupteashot · 12/05/2020 18:33

Sounds like food poisoning to me

Aquamarine1029 · 12/05/2020 18:36

What you have described are classic symptoms for women suffering a heart attack. I think you should be checked out immediately.

Before my family member had a heart attack and cardiac arrest, she desperately needed a poo. Her arms went numb while she was in the toilet and she nearly got stuck in there. Don’t dismiss it because it seems unlikely. Please get checked. It’s so much better to be safe.

This sounds a bit like how my covid started. Definitely phone your gp for advice.

blackcat86 · 12/05/2020 19:06

Definitely speak to the GP. When I done first aid training for work we were told that many people get the urge to go to the loo before a heart attack and feel sweaty and nauseous . Did you go off colour at all as looking quite grey is a classic sign. Equally it could be anxiety and a panic attack but its hard to tell in hindsight without a medical check up

KKSlider · 12/05/2020 19:25

It could be gallstones, when I had my first gallstones attack I thought I was having a heart attack and also felt sweaty, nauseous, and like I had a dodgy tummy.

There are a hundred and one things it could be that aren't a heart attack but because there is a chance that it could have been, you really need medical advice.

InSpaceNooneCanHearYouScream · 12/05/2020 20:04

Where exactly was the pain? Was it sharp, dull, crushing, twingey?
If it was low down on the right, under your right boob, could be gallstones. If more central chest then that's more worrying, particularly with a tingly arm. I would go to A and E tonight. How old are you and how old was your family members first heart attack?

InSpaceNooneCanHearYouScream · 12/05/2020 20:06

Sorry I see you're early 20's. Are you overweight or been overweight and losing weight recently? What was your heart issue as a child?
