I have a small space that needs filling with something interesting... was thinking a Buddha but has anyone else got a better idea?

Lots of things that people like to live with are tacky...it is personal choice.

If you are asking here is might be because you will feel it maybe wasn't the best thing in a little while. How about a bird bath? (Also popular with birds who like a bath, so several people are happy!)

@lazylinguist I think they must be a reasonably large/well-respected organisation if their posters are displayed in Thailand's international airports. And using a Buddha statue/image just for decoration is by definition disrespectful, particularly if you put it on the ground, or in fact anywhere lower than head height - these would be very offensive things to do in a Buddhist country.

I have a statue of Buddha in my garden in my meditation corner where I have planted an area for quiet contemplation.

@boasting - could we see a photo of the space, perhaps?

I'd go with either s birdbath, as pp suggested, or a gazing ball.

Personally, unless you are a Buddhist I'd say YABU. What's wrong with a birdbath?

DysonFury · 12/05/2020 18:19

What's wrong with a good old traditional gnome?
