What age were you happiest?

What age were you when you were at your happiest in life?

For me I was very happy as a child until the age of 11. I hated high school and didn’t start to feel happy again until I was about 31 as I had one horrible thing after another happen throughout my 20s.
32 now and feeling like life is good again (well until all this coronavirus crap started)

25-35.. I've hit 35 and the funk is settling in. Not sure if it's a wider issue given the state of society, though.

Thirty. I felt strong and happy in my skin.

52 now and happy but very mortal.

Probably until the age of about 11 when the social world started to seem overly complex with too many rules I didn't understand

I’m 50 and happier than I have ever been.

I know on these threads you are meant to say 21 but I really don’t crave youth at all. I know who I am now and have so much more confidence. I would never turn the clock back to being a frightened, insecure and crowd pleasing girl.

Why? If you don’t mind me asking. (I’ve just turned 33.)

Reading these has made me realise that there never actually been a time in my life where there wasn’t some crap going in that was making my life miserable in some way. I had fun as a child but also a violent alcoholic parent and then lived in extreme poverty in a single parent household for my later childhood and was a fairly troubled teenager. I did have fun with my friends but some of the stuff we were involved in was quite harmful and at times scary.

Met my partner at 19 and spent 16 years years in a deeply unhappy controlling relationship. I had a brief spell of relative happiness after my dc 1 turned 3 and I had dc 2. However it all came crashing down around the time I hit my 30s unplanned 3rd child partner becoming more controlling and jealous. I finally left him 2 years ago and expected to be able to be happy but now I’m more miserable than ever, severe depression, poverty, loneliness, my age, kids health problems, behavioural issues, family bereavement etc etc. I know other people deal with all this shit and start happy so I guess it’s a negative mindset I have 🤷‍♀️

This thread has made me laugh. One pp I was literally about to respond to with “are you me?” Then I realised it’s a zombie thread and it was indeed me, under a different name.

Dad became terminally ill and it was one thing after another since then.

30 and then 35
