What can you do now to save time in the future

The answer may be nothing but I'm thinking about things like:
Batch cooking and filling a chest freezer
Gardening
DIY
I've a fairly strong need to socialise and want to try and get back the time in the future I've lost due to this situation.
Any ideas?

I've written my Christmas cards Smile.

Clear my spare room, get garden visitor ready, declutter my bedroom.
Want to get a decorator in and flooring changed post lockdown & finally get a cleaner & all of the above will make it more feasible.

Great thread!
Prepare my tax return - I usually do it last minute in December.
Delete photos and files from my phone and laptop to free up storage - the most boring chore that I've put off for years.
Declutter drawers that haven't been sorted since I moved in 9 years ago.
It's rock 'n roll at my house.

I'm getting the decorating done, ready to our the house on the market.
Painted the spare room today.

I like the Christmas card idea!

Christmas cards is a genius idea!

I’ve cleared out various cupboards and drawers. We are hoping to buy a new house this year (well, when things die down..) so it’s helpful to reduce clutter and make the job easier for when we finally move.

Got a grout pen to fill in the slightly orangey gaps between my bathroom tiles

Pruned the garden bushes somewhat more aggressively than I would normally so I won’t have to deal with them again for a while

Created a spreadsheet of dates various things are up for renewal (car insurance, contents insurance, mobile phone upgrade, breakdown cover etc) and added reminders in my calendar so I can start researching alternatives just before them, either finding better deals elsewhere or getting leverage to negotiate better ones with my current providers

I've been getting my photos printed and put my online pics into organised albums. Just doing a few each day. Less daunting.

ChandlerIsTheBestFriend · 07/05/2020 23:45

Be really organised. Being organised is the best way to save time. It means less time looking for things, catching up on chores you’ve let build up, it also means your head starts to learn the order of things, when they need done, where they are etc and you can instantly recall all the information you need without going looking.

It takes time to set up in the beginning but really is worthwhile.

OhioOhioOhio · 07/05/2020 23:46

Yes, being organised and constantly revisiting the places you had decluttered forever. It does not take too long to sustain order once you've cleared out most of the crap.

I have chopped onions of both colours, peppers of all colours and chilliest. They are all in sandwich bags in the freezer. They can be used from frozen but also defrost really quickly when needed.
