Just eat smallprint

I made an order with just eat over a month ago. They took my payment today, 6 weeks later putting me in to my overdraft. I had no idea. It's in their smallprint so I have no leg to stand on complaining. AIBU to think this is a bit shit? I don't understand why it sound take that long. I've had numerous big things I've had to pay for this month so feeling slightly more stressed about it than I usually would...

I check my online bank and credit card each week. I know exactly what I've spent! Why wouldn't you?

I used to work for a bank and so many people don’t keep track of what’s going in/out of their account. There is no excuse not to check every day with internet banking and phone apps.

You are lucky this wasn’t when I worked for the bank as od charges were £25 fine and if it caused payments to bounce each one of these would incur £30 fine each. I saw people with a £500 debt for one mistake.

It’s silly they take payments late and i’v not had this with just eat but there must be a genuine reason if it’s in the small print.

Did you double check it wasnt taken six weeks ago too op, just in case they have made an error

That’s so annoying OP, I don’t blame you for being upset about it. It would have caught me out too.

This is a perfect example of how banks profit from poor people. It’s completely despicable. Racking up charges of £500 for one mistake should be illegal.
