13 Year Olds - Cyberbullying - AIBU to go advise Police?

I will try and keep it brief.... group of 13 year olds, group chat, a smaller group of children within this group chat are singling out one girl and her family and writing the most vicious, spiteful and cruel messages and posting on this group. Parents of the girl are aware of what is going on. I’ve advised them to report it, is this unreasonable due to what’s going on in the world right now?
What would you do?

No. Cyber bullying or bullying of any type should be tackled. I’m not sure if the police would do anything but they might.

The girls parents are aware. So it's up to them how they deal with it.
Stay out of it..

Bring it up with the school they go to they school have a duty of care to those being bullied whether its inside school or out of it. As you know about it you can report it

Being a bystander to bullying is not an option, it often causes life long harm to those who are being bullied and the bully them selves often are living in an abusive home, flag it.

The school should be able to deal with this issue?

Fluffybutter · 05/05/2020 17:43

Agree with the above , alert the school and they should deal with it

Question is, are the parents of the bullies aware? A few carefully placed screenshots to the right people may do the trick...starting with the head of safeguarding and year head at the school.

The school will take this seriously, if screenshots are provided they may well involve the police. Cyber bullying is cruel and it’s effects can be long lasting to the victim - as any type of bullying.
