But of back ground.
DD1 - is 10, has profound multiple learning disorders as well as a brain condition called craniosyntosis that means she has a limited about of space between her brain and skull (there for a temperature can be very dangerous because of space to cool) she has a 12 week shielding letter.
DD2 - is 5, has severe asthma and has been hospitalist with an asthma attack just earlier this year. She also has a 12 week letter.
DD3 - is 2, has no health issues. But the private nursery has been closed this entire time.

I'm also currently 26 weeks pregnant, the nerves around the girls going back to school scares me. We have a good routine down, DD1's class teacher has been super impressed with the improvement in her writing and math work since going in to isolation. DD2's teacher is happy with what she is doing and has been sending topics and diagraph's of the week for her too do.
I don't want to send them back! Am I being unreasonable?

They won’t be returning just yet. The June 1st thing was pure speculation, please don’t feel worried about it. I’m a teacher and we were told September which I still believe to be the case. I’m also pregnant and there’s no way I’d return to work or would return my DC to school just yet. We are over the peak but there’s still thousands of daily cases, a second peak will arise if we just try to get back to normal too quickly.

If you have got12 week letters you wouldn't have to send them back anyway

bigchris · 03/05/2020 20:40

I think some kids will go back before september, but it won't be compulsory ,schools are open now , not every one goes

Freddiefox · 03/05/2020 20:41

You don’t have to send them back. The 12 weeks will be extended for shielding people

JHKLHZHARH · 03/05/2020 20:42

maybelatte I agree, September sounds more sensible to me. I'm a 1:1 TA so I'm enjoying teaching my own children at the moment. My eldest is actually making some progress, her teacher is really happy and saying that she can't wait to reevaluate her when she returns in the hope that she can finally move off P scales and move on to the national curriculum.

I would hope that the 12 week letter would stand. But I'm scared they will revoke it!
