To think Phillp Schofield is REALLY smug and annoying?

.....and rather self obsessed!

I don't think he's a bad person, but he's really getting on my nerves recently and I don't know if that's my general tolerance being lower, due to lockdown or if he really has changed.

For example, what was with that interview at the zoo with the This Morning vet a few days ago?! How rude?! Don't get me wrong, initially I was with him - yes, give the rhino the branch, but he wouldn't shut up! Just kept yelling at him, "open my mic!!" completely talking over the other guy, who was actually trying to explain something very important. I think (although it was difficult to hear due to Schofields shrieking!) that it was something to do with the zoo not having enough money to feed the animals, due to Covid and the loss of visitors, so y'know....quite important Hmm Oh and then like a little school boy, started talking over them again, repeating "can we see the giraffes?.. can we see the giraffes?" 🤨

Plus I was recently recommended a YouTube video (must have watched an interview or something) of him and Holly interview Andrea McLean a few years ago and he was HORRIBLE to her. Yes, she had been unfaithful and quite publically, but he was so nasty and cold. Said something along the lines of "well that's not exactly very Cinderella like is it?" And looked at her like she was nothing. So maybe it's not so recent then.

He just has this very smug demeanor. When he takes part in a 'doing' item, he goes all pouty and looks so self satisfied.

Is it just me?...

(but I agree with what someone said earlier about the horrible anti-Meghan Markle threads on there, which I just steer clear of personally)

ThinkPink71 · 04/05/2020 11:56

Cant stand the guy.

He's only got worse since he has 'come out'

Him & Holly...eurgh

Costacoffeeplease · 04/05/2020 13:01

MrsEsss Gino d’Acampo the well known little Italian thief 🤮

MrsEsss · 04/05/2020 14:29

*Costacoffeeplease", yes I heard about that. How on earth has he got where he is with that history?

HillieBoliday · 04/05/2020 14:55

GinoD’Acampo burgled Paul Young’s (singer from ye olden days) house. He took lots of personal stuff, of sentimental value.
I don’t remember whether it was after Paul You G’s wife’s death from cancer, or she died not long after the burglary. Watching him, to me, would be like being taken on a friendly tour of an abattoir.

HillieBoliday · 04/05/2020 14:57

I think that kind of trespass is extremely sinister.
Why is he still on air? There are lots of decent cooks/chefs around.

Costacoffeeplease · 04/05/2020 15:34

I have no idea how he’s managed to get work after what he did

Devlesko · 04/05/2020 15:59

I have no idea how he’s managed to get work after what he did

Ooh, use your imagination, it's pretty obvious really.

Costacoffeeplease · 04/05/2020 17:56

Maybe, but still sickening to see his smug face on tv

Somanysocks · 04/05/2020 18:17

It was 1998, Stacey died 2018.

decktheballss · 04/05/2020 18:19

I have really gone off him, he is very smug

WobblingMyWigglyBits · 05/05/2020 08:16

It's like they have gone into 'children's entertainer' mode. They need to calm down, stop the silly dancing and the 'love you' at the end of interviews

bobstersmum · 05/05/2020 08:22

I has a proper look at the tattle life site, it really does seem like somewhere for people to slag celebs off and make up rumours, it's the equivalent of the nasty bullies group at school as far as I can see?

PamDenick · 06/05/2020 14:53

Perhaps not a great idea to have Barrymore on today?

HillieBoliday · 06/05/2020 22:52

somanysocks ah. That clears something up. I’m sure she’d had lots of good times before she left us and let’s hope it wasn’t left indelibly on her memory.
I’d love to say “well that’s okay then”. But i think we know that it doesn’t make it okay. Gino D’Acampo is still an odious little shit.

HillieBoliday · 06/05/2020 22:57

Also I was thinking about what Devlesko said .. pretty much that there are people who are on television now that nobody wants to watch, but who know where the bodies are buried.

Aren’t viewing figures declining I have no idea how they measure viewing figures someone enlighten me please?

Do the advertisers not actually watch the programmes they’re using?

Changeyname40 · 06/05/2020 23:21

He has this really annoying interview style. Ever so slightly judgey.

ArriettyJones · 07/05/2020 09:48

It’s not just the viewing figures @HillieBoliday - it’s the demographic. I don’t have live television any more so can’t give current examples but if you compare the ads during ITV’s daytime dross to (for example) the adverts for a quality Channel 4 documentary, you will see very easily who the viewers are.

MrsEsss · 07/05/2020 15:23

What are you trying to say about Foxy Bingo players there, Arriety? 😉

ArriettyJones · 07/05/2020 17:53

😗

HillieBoliday · 07/05/2020 22:08

Yes I do realise that advertisements will differ according to the target audience. What I mean is, if we can’t get Schofield, D’Acampo etc off air through letting ITV know, couldn’t we let the advertisers on these shows know?
Why are there people on air at the moment whom nobody likes? Surely something can be done?
Actually first on my list would be Ramsey.

MrsEsss · 08/05/2020 00:15

I think a lot of people do like them though Hillie. That's the problem. They're as loved as they are hated.
