As per the meme ‘I will die on this hill’ what are your lighthearted hills you’re willing to die on?

Mine:

Phoebe Buffay is the worst friends character. She is not kooky, she’s mean, selfish and always looking for ways to put the other friends down. Everyone is too busy hating Ross to realise Phoebe is a cock. I will die on this hill.

*My hill to die on is fruit in puddings.

Completely agree about Hermione; a very three dimensional character with lots of depth and subtlety. A great role model for young girls IMO, absolutely loved her as a teen, and was motivated to work hard at school by her, because Rowling makes it clear that although she is bright and innovative, she also has a very good work ethic.

I don't understand people that develop full blown crushes on characters in either movies or books. I understand finding the actors playing the characters attractive but not the MADE UP character. To me it's like saying you fancy Father Christmas.

Equally it is Father Christmas and not Santa unless you are American.

Roast dinners are nice but can get tedious if you have them weekly. There are only so many ways to roast a joint or meat and some veg.

And finally can someone explain why people who don't take sugar/sweetener in their tea then dunk biscuits in? Surely that makes the tea sweet?

WeirdAndScary dipping biscuits is about the impact on the biscuit not the tea. When my children were litter they used to dip their biscuits in my tea even though they wouldn't drink tea if I made them their own (allowing this should be the definition of unconditional parental love - there has never been anyone else I'd allowed to do that).

Also I like sweet tea too, but it's a very rare indulgence (not had it since my younger days when it was a hangover cure or pick me up after a long hike in the lake District during which the weather had turned and I'd got drenched/ freezing cold). If you drink a lot of tea you can't really drink it sweet if you also eat biscuits

No they don’t @BrooHaHa. Our estate has dozens of cats. We see 4 or 5 of them just around our house regularly. We’ve just had to call the factors in to sort out a rat problem.

Shredded wheat and weetbix should be eaten with hot milk, sugar and a knob of butter.
