To ask how houses are selling???

We were due to sell our flat and had an open day arranged for first weekend of lockdown so obviously it was cancelled. We are looking to buy as well as sell so I check rightmove twice a day at least. Properties are coming on and a few days later are sold STC. If no viewings are allowed how are they selling? Are people offering just based on photos? Some have online virtual viewings / tours but not all. Some are coming on and selling by the afternoon and some a week later and anything in between. We are about to do a video tour to add to our rightmove listing, I have been hesitant because who buys without viewing in person? Well, it seems to be happening, unless I'm missing something? It isn't just the odd house, it is quite a few. For example, new property comes on in the morning, says open house is 7th September. Sold STC next day..... genuinely intruiged and perplexed.

I exchanged and completed on a property
early last week but as of yesterday it was still on Rightmove as Sold STC...as pp have said, don't believe everything you see on there.
A very frustrating situation for you though, no doubt

We'd accepted an offer (but not exchanged) on our rental (accidental not BTL) before lockdown. Luckily our tenants could still move out and their new place had been empty for ages so no risk. And our buyers weren't in a chain, didn't have mortgage issues or want a survey so it all went through in the first week in April. But well aware we had a very specific set of circumstances. Seems unlikely there are many in similar situations.

We're also looking for our new/forever home and where we're looking (East Kent) there's almost nothing new coming on the market. Few estate agents are pushing video viewings but generally it's dead quiet.

An estate agent here is offering 'virtual viewings' - some houses have video tours already but these viewings are supposed to be more in depth... seller wandering round their house on FaceTime to buyers?? No idea 😂

The online viewing we had was a 2 minute video filmed by the agent before lockdown. Not ideal, but enough for us.

One problem at the moment is that surveyors (for a mortgagee) can't gain access to a property where the sale has been agreed.

We have been asked to do a virtual viewing.......I am just wondering where I can hide 2kids???!!
