If you look back at your life, what's the best thing you've done? I want to know what is the best thing that people have done for themselves in their life.

I'd really like to read things that people have done that have changed their life for the better =)

frumpety · 28/04/2020 18:55

I honestly can't think of anything. I probably need to do something about that.

Hugsgalore · 28/04/2020 18:56

@MiniPharm that's my dream Grin

Becoming a teacher.
Learning to drive and getting a car.
Having and growing my savings and a pension for the future.
Having hobbies and doing exercise.
Changing my mindset, being more open to different things and feeling more positive.

I feel like no matter what happens in the future I have a good base to handle it with. Self sufficiency is really important to me, I want to have freedom and not rely on others. I didn't have the best childhood or life until more recently and this spurred me on to make sure I can control my future.

I suddenly became very allergic to dairy and eggs so was forced to give them up. It turned out to be life changing for me. I lost weight, stopped binge eating, felt so much healthier and then took up running because I had more energy. This led to me joining a gym and discovering a love for Zumba and exercise in general. I have now stopped drinking alcohol as I have understood the benefits of leading a balanced life. I really was all over the place before I gave up dairy - weight fluctuating madly, binging on food and alcohol, moods up and down, self loathing. I actually can’t believe something so simple to change has had such a dramatic impact.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 28/04/2020 19:41

Said 'yes' when I was .... asked. I was nervous but I accepted. It may have been all too fleeting but it changed my whole life Blush

Thank you. I will love you always. You're not on here but you know who you are.

Learning to say “no” and sticking firmly to my morales. Learning that money is nice to have, but happiness cannot be bought only made by the individual.

Diorissimo1985 · 28/04/2020 19:50

Went to work abroad one summer when I was 20.
Changed my outlook, gave me confidence, raised my aspirations and I actually met my DH there (married him 8 years later). Absolutely changed the course of my life for the better.

Saradipity · 28/04/2020 19:51

Completed a professional qualification. I've gone from struggling on £22,000 to earning £40,500 in less than a year.

Boredbumhead · 28/04/2020 19:55

Travelling. Broadened my horizons considerably.

billydilly · 28/04/2020 19:55

After many attempts, stopped drinking at 33. The doctor had warned me that I wouldn't see 40 if I didn't.

Left a miserable long term relationship. Moved back home in my mid 20s which allowed me to re-train and change career. I started living the life I wanted to live and stopped trying to please other people.

Saradipity · 28/04/2020 20:08

@Girlinterruption2020
