To think Wayfair is massively overpriced

I appreciate I'm not their target demographic but I find them so bloody expensive! I don't know how I ended up on the website but I found a children's climbing frame for £8.5k Shock

www.wayfair.co.uk/garden/pdp/freeport-park-raoul-climbing-frame-u001868666.html

It's yours for just £714.06 a month. That's more than my rent, council tax, gas, electric, water, car insurance, Netflix, phone, broadband and about half my grocery bill put together. It's ridiculously expensive, unless its some sort of Olympic grade climbing frame that plebs like me don't know about then I take it back.

I’m assuming it’s like Amazon where you’ll get very high priced things but I doubt they expect to sell any - it’s just a way of keeping a listing “live” when they don’t actually have stock - when stock comes in they drop the price back to a reasonable level instead of having to relist the item.

TreeTopTim · 29/04/2020 08:42

Anytime I have wanted to buy something from Wayfair I am not able to as they dont deliver that item to where I live. Because apparently the north east of Scotland is not on mainland UK Confused

NoWordForFluffy · 29/04/2020 08:48

I bought a mid-sleeper bed from there recently which, after doing plenty of price research, was a good price. It also had a large number of good reviews. I also bought a relatively cheap desk when I started to WFH a couple of days a week a few years ago and that was / is fine too.

My Wayfair bookcase is coming today! I love Wayfair.

Pika09 · 29/04/2020 09:02

I've found a lot of it is poor quality tat from china

Iwantacookie · 29/04/2020 09:21

Some things can be but some are actually quite reasonable priced.

Carpballs · 29/04/2020 11:58

Eh?

It's showing as only £144.99 when I click on the link.

I suspect some of the outrageous pricing is when they don't have stock, but it's easier to temporarily change price than delist and relist later. I've seen similar on ebay.

Excited101 · 29/04/2020 12:17

I had a sideboard from them when they were Joss and Main and it had a hole in the back of it. It didn't really matter as it was going against a wall but it' significant. I can't remember if i got 80% refund or 100% refund and to keep it. But they had only wanted to give me a tiny discount when I first emailed.

inwood · 29/04/2020 12:18

I love Wayfair, I did see some solar gargen lights the other day for £8k though which makes me think @flavabobble is right.

CSIblonde · 29/04/2020 12:57

If I see something on their site that I like I always Google & find it cheaper somewhere else. They're good at what's on trend but overpriced.

vanillandhoney · 29/04/2020 13:13

OP, the link you've posted is for an item that costs £144.99.

Herpesfreesince03 · 29/04/2020 13:21

I think they’re good quality, cheap, great customer service and really quick delivery

fivesecondrule · 29/04/2020 13:24

I've done a google image search on a few things from Wayfair and found them considerably cheaper elsewhere.

fivesecondrule · 29/04/2020 13:26

Sorry meant image reverse search
