To ask what has your toddler eaten today ?

Today and is their diet what you call “balanced” opinions welcomed on what I’ve given my ds today ..

Today my ds has had :

Breakfast - 2 weetabix milk
Snack - 2 cheddar biscuits and some cheese
Lunch - pesto chicken pasta - pudding banana and yoghurt
Dinner - just had chicken goujon wraps with mayo and some tomatoes chopped up and bits of cheese , pudding fruit salad.

He has ALOt of fruit , some days he has a biscuit for a snack or a small piece of chocolate .

Too much sugar ?

My 2.5yo today:

Breakfast: crumpet with butter and marmite, water with spoonful of vitamin medicine in it

Morning snack: raisins and dried mango pieces, toast

Lunch: 2 fish fingers, handful of Pom bear style crisps, carrot sticks, apple slices, mini hot cross bun and butter for pudding

Afternoon snack: mini yogurt, nibble of chocolate, banana

Dinner: roast chicken pasta

DN 27 months had:

Breakfast: porridge made with whole milk and half a banana
Snack: cucumber and roast chicken with sour cream dip
Lunch: leftover chickpea curry and rice
Snack: orange juice ice lolly that we made yesterday (most of it melted) and some strawbs
Tea: shepherds pie, broccoli and gravy

She also somehow fit in an additional yoghurt about an hour after tea. I don't know where she puts it, she's only a little dot!

She also drank about 600mls ish of water throughout the day.

Breakfast - cereal & milk
Mid morning snack - 1 cream cracker ( he loves these dry )
Lunch - hamburger in brioche bun ( out in garden today)
Afternoon snack - banana
Dinner - homemade spaghetti Bol with veg through it

Drinks - cups of fresh orange / 2 cups of milk

B: American pancakes with lemon and sugar, raspberries, 1 slice bacon, diluted orange juice
S: breadstick and banana
L: jam sandwich and tomatoes, small homemade cake
S: breadstick
D: half burger in half a bun, corn on cob, yellow pepper, bit of Easter egg, cup of milk

DS 4
B: Same as above,
S: breadstick and apple
L: peanut butter wrap, carrot sticks, small cake
S: lime and lemon slices 🥴
D: burger in bun, bits off pork kebab, corn on cob, yellow pepper, bit of Easter egg

It sounds fine to me. My 2.5 year old:

  • breakfast: porridge
  • lunch: salmon, pan fried potatoes and pees
  • afternoon snack: one petit filou, two biscuits, sugar free squash, one apple
  • dinner: home made veggie pizza, one pear and some ice cream as a treat.
(We always have lunch and dinner as a family).

My 2.4 year old has eaten

Breakfast 2 weetabix then asked for some shreddies
Snack Melon
Lunch half a large scotch egg, grated cheese
Snack yoghurt
Dinner 2 fish fingers, mash potato and mixed veg. Ate about half.
Pudding pear and ice cream
Before bed small cup of milk

My 2.year old had the following:
Breakfast- coco pops and then half a banana and two small yoghurts
Snack- a glass of milk
Lunch-cheesy pasta with salmon and mixed vegetables
Snack- the other half of a banana and a mug of milk
Dinner- lamb and rice with vegetables

He has had several glasses of water throughout the day.

His sister is 4 and has had the same main meals but bigger portions. For her mid morning snack she had an apple and in the afternoon a custard pot and angel delight. After dinner she had a strawberry milkshake and a tangerine.

Soon to be 3 year old ds has had:

Banana
Cheese on toast (one slice with the crusts cut off)
1 sausage
Dairylea dunker things (with the ritz biscuits)
Melon
Mini pack of grufalo biscuits
Fish goujons with broccoli
Some more melon
2 beakers of milk.

Breakfast - Jam on toast, half a cinnamon and raisin bagel
Lunch - Cheese on toasted wrap
Mini milk
4 dried apricots
Piece of chocolate
Dinner - macaroni cheese, broccoli and beans, chocolate cake
Supper - toast
We needed to go shopping!

Nearly 3 year old:

Breakfast- slice of wholemeal toast with butter and marmite, some apple
Snack- small piecd cheese, more apple, small piece of easter egg
Lunch- didn't eat, home made cheesy veg pie,picked a few carrots and pieces of sweetcorn out
Snack-about half a satsuma
Dinner- something with chicken, rice and veg (dh cooked, i was at work) didn't really eat much. Small fromage frais.
Lots of water to drink, plus one cup of squash.

16 month old had the same, but devoured the lot.

OP, I forgot to say that your DCs food sounds good and well balanced, I’d be pleased if my children ate that.
After a sugary day yesterday we had a better day today.

DS 2.5

B: 1.5 weetabix, raspberries
S: breadstick
L: ham and pickle sandwich (2 slices of bread but left the crusts), 1 cherry tom, half an apple
S: homemade pancake
D: Thai chicken curry with baby corn, mangetout and green beans in, mini milk, cup of milk
S: Banana

DS 4:

B: Cheerios, raspberries
S: breadstick, pear
L: peanut better and apple wrap, raw green beans
S: homemade pancake
D: Thai chicken curry as above, mini milk, cup of milk
S: another pear
