Flats with shared gardens

I live in a first floor flat in a small block (6 flats in total). The occupiers below us have moved onto the patch of communal grass directly below our windows and are blasting music. They have form for this and have been asked to turn it down/off many times since they moved in.

Am I unreasonable to ask them to turn the music off? I have a 3 year old who goes to bed at 7pm. I realise that we are under lockdown and that everyone needs fresh air, but they only ever play music in the evenings, which is part of the reason I'm so annoyed. They're too busy smoking weed and shouting at their console in the daytime...

What's the protocol when the garden space is shared?

Is there a similar bit of garden they could move to? If so, I'd explain your dc is off to bed and ask them to move to the other bit of the garden. If they can't move and still enjoy the shared garden, I'd just ask them to keep the noise down for the same reason. Unfortunately they have equal rights to enjoy the space but if they're at all interested in being good neighbours they'll respond favourably. Good luck!

I think at seven pm yes it’s unreasonable to ask them to turn it off totally. However you can ask them to turn it down if it’s blasting out.

7PM is too early to ask people to turn music off.
However, there should be something in a lease about the communal spaces? It is possible it mentions loud activities.
