Very lucky to be in a detached house with a huge garden.
Next door neighbour insists on blasting (and I mean blasting) dance music every afternoon. It's driving me crazy beyond words.
Her husband works nights so it's all quiet until the poor sod gets up to a full scale rave.
AIBU to have my radio on at the same volume in the morning to show her how unreasonable it is?
I have no one trying to sleep but dear god it's annoying!

Why punish her husband??? Surely do it when SHE is sleeping Grin
Or just ask her to put it down!

If you have asked her to do that, keep a noise diary and report to council.

toomanyplants · 24/04/2020 16:22

Because then HE may tell her to be more mindful of the neighbours!
She's not the type to take kindly to asking her to turn it down, she's trapped in some kind of mid 90's solo disco.

Lsquiggles · 24/04/2020 16:26

I'd blast your music so loud it disturbs hers Grin

toomanyplants · 24/04/2020 16:29

@Lsquiggles here is bursting my ears as it is 😂
I'm all for a bit of music in your own space but there's zero need for the volume!

Go for it. Explain you've been enjoying the daily raves and thought you'd join in.

Ponoka7 · 24/04/2020 16:34

Do you have a neighbour on the other side, perhaps think about them? Could you speak to her?

Lsquiggles · 24/04/2020 16:36

@toomanyplants turn it up full blast then go out for your daily exercise Grin

NorthernSpirit · 24/04/2020 16:36

Selfish of her.

Ask her politely to stop if she doesn’t report her to noise abatement at the council.

Don’t stoop to her level.

Boils my piss that people think we should all listen to their music.

NoSauce · 24/04/2020 16:55

Just go and talk with her.

EstuaryBird · 24/04/2020 16:56

Norwegian Death Metal is your friend.

IHaveAMagicBean · 24/04/2020 16:59

Please don’t do that! She’d be quite within her rights to record you and report you. If you don’t feel you can talk to her, check your local authority (council) website and report her for noise. She will get a letter within a few days and hopefully she will quieten down.

Here, come have a drink with me and forget about her for a minute Gin Wine Brew Cake

readingismycardio · 24/04/2020 17:19

Don't do it - she might actually like it😂 Now seriously, I'd go talk to her politely

Piscesperson · 24/04/2020 17:43

Do you live in a house near to me?? Could have written this myself- they love Dance Monkey...

BumbleBeee69 · 24/04/2020 18:00

Damn Right... BLAST AWAY OP Grin

managedmis · 24/04/2020 18:00

This is what iron maiden is for

toomanyplants · 24/04/2020 18:01

In all seriousness, I couldn't play my radio at the same volume, my house would be shaking!
She's not a bad person, just loud, very shouty even day to day, I think some folks are just noisy by nature?
I'll have a word next time we are in the front together, ask if she would mind toning it slightly, its a small price to pay and I know I'm lucky to have a decent garden to relax in, not working from home or anything, so shouldn't really moan!
(It is loud though!!)

ChristmasFluff · 25/04/2020 16:18

Have you spoken to her? She really may have no idea.

If you have, and got nowhere, I thoroughly recommend 'Wanna Be Your Dog' by Iggy and the Stooges, or anything by Fields of the Nephilim. Loud, and with the speakers placed against her walls.

Pasghetti · 25/04/2020 16:52

Oh God. This is my worst nightmare neighbour. There is nothing more cuntish than people who think the whole world wants to hear their shit music.
