DH breaking lockdown rules?

I'm in lockdown at home with my DS, & DD who is has SEN & is vulnerable, & DH who is going to work during the day - self employed so not mixing with anyone. We live in a rural area so v isolated and safe and he has just announced that his DD who lives in the centre of a big city with 2 other flatmates is going to do some work for him at his unit. Surely this completely misses the point of us self isolating if he is mixing with someone from another household and potentially bringing back germs to the house. I'm livid but wondering if I'm overreacting?

If they adhere to social distancing rules then there's no problem. Can you trust that they would be doing this?

SharonasCorona · 21/04/2020 21:15

Is what he does essential? Is he getting government help?

yearinyearout · 21/04/2020 21:19

@SharonasCorona there are still plenty of businesses running that aren't essential, they haven't been banned from operation.

WorraLiberty · 21/04/2020 21:20

As long as they can stay 2 meters apart, I can't see the problem?

Plus it'll be nice for him to see her.

aupresdemonarbre · 21/04/2020 21:21

It’s not breaking the rules to go to work if the work can’t be done from home.

JasonPollack · 21/04/2020 21:23

Working is not breaking the rules.

Speedqueen2 · 21/04/2020 21:28

Yeah maybe I"m overreacting. They won't be 2 metres apart when he collects her in the car, but other than that they could be.

It’s not breaking the lockdown rules, but the car isn’t ideal.

BoomBoomsCousin · 22/04/2020 17:27

The car isn't great, but it may be better than public transport (if that even runs to where you are). But there's nothing against the rules about working or employing people to work.

However, if your DD is vulnerable to covid-19 (rather than just vulnerable in general because of SEN) I would be questioning him increasing his risk by employing other people if he could avoid it right now.
