To ask who takes the bins out?

If you don't like the question you don't need to answer and can hide the thred.

I've just spoken to my SIL who says she's never put their bin out and it's the mans job. Theirs is round the back though so they have to bring it round the front.

My sisters is on their drive so I guess it's easier.

Mine is at the back and we have to go down a gennel through a car park then take it to the front.

My DH works away lots so even when he's home he doesn't think about menial day to day things like bin day so I usually do it unless I ask him, though if he is doing it he will jump out of bed when he hears the lorry.

If you life alone obviously you have no choice.

Pointless post I suppose. I think I'm over tired. The kids have sent me mad 😂🙈

As a kid, it was always my Dad's job and then my older brother's job.

In our house, it's meant to be DH as it's the ONLY household job he does on a regular basis but in the past few months that's slipped and it's muggins here doing it.

Since lockdown, we're doing it half and half.

Desmondo2016 · 19/04/2020 22:37

My husband normally does it. But on lockdown I've been jumping at the chance for a change of scene...

quietheart · 19/04/2020 22:38

My DH unless working away. My neighbour never puts her bin out or brings it in, if her DH forgets she walks past it.

ButtWormHole · 19/04/2020 22:39

My husband does it. Growing up my dad did it too. I guess I do this of them as a man’s job.

tigerwhocametoT · 19/04/2020 22:39

I've always took the bin out. The few times I asked DH to take out the bin he forgot and I was left with over flowing binAngry.

OmgThereAreNoPlanesAboveMeNow · 19/04/2020 22:40

Dh. Because I can't be arsed to go out there that late. He does it on a way from work.

SerenDippitty · 19/04/2020 22:40

DH does it.

viewfromabridge · 19/04/2020 22:40

Alexa reminds us each week and whoever hears her takes them out if not already done.

Macncheeseballs · 19/04/2020 22:40

I do mostly, but we both do

Yogawoogie · 19/04/2020 22:40

Whoever fills it/notices/can be bothered between myself, dh and dc.
It’s no one’s ‘job’. It’s just something that we all need to do occasionally.

tigerwhocametoT · 19/04/2020 22:41

Come to think of it I don't really think my DH knows which day the bin goes out.

PaquitaVariation · 19/04/2020 22:41

Whoever leaves for work first.

JKScot4 · 19/04/2020 22:41

Teenage DS is the bin taker out.

DontStandSoCloseToMe · 19/04/2020 22:42

Whoever is leaving the house first on bin day

Yogawoogie · 19/04/2020 22:42

I don’t understand why it’s deemed a mans job. Surely we aren’t to delicate or worried about our nails?

MitziK · 19/04/2020 22:42

Whoever is most irritated by the pile of recycling first or decides the bin(s) need emptying.

It's hardly difficult.

Puddlesplasher · 19/04/2020 22:42

Me mostly.

MrsChicken89 · 19/04/2020 22:43

Its usually me who does it, im pretty sure OH has no idea what day the bin man comes, he will do it if i ask him on his way out to work as he leaves at 7am, but 9/10 its my job.

JaceLancs · 19/04/2020 22:43

DS job plus sorting recycling

WorraLiberty · 19/04/2020 22:44

Whoever remembers first.

Fedhimtotigers · 19/04/2020 22:44

DH. If bin Ick touches me I may die.
Doesn't seem worth the risk.

AliTheMinx · 19/04/2020 22:46

I always take the bins out and put all the bin bags in the outside bin/empty our indoor bins/sort out the recycling and garden waste. DH would be utterly clueless!

louise5754 · 19/04/2020 22:47

@MitziK well I knew there would be one!!

My husband, but he does the majority of housework anyway.

RealLifeHotWaterBottle · 19/04/2020 22:47

Either/whoever remembers first
