Does it irritate your gag reflex? I really want to get it done but I throw up even brushing my teeth sometimes and worry having the bar in my mouth will make me wretchy !

Mine didn’t hurt getting it done and no gag reflex issues. Similar to others, I took mine out after biting really hard on the ball.
It was quite unpleasant while swollen. Might do it again and see if it keeps me out of the kitchen. Slowed me right down. Don’t eat crisps and spaghetti afterwards.

From memory, mine wasn't to bad I had mine numbed & apart from the swelling was & has been absolutely fine. I'm terrible when it comes to gag reflex but don't notice mine very much
I've had it in for over 10 years & I was young when I had it so I'm that used to it I feel I don't talk right if I take it out lol
No teeth damage tho & I have a metal ball in as found plastic ones didn't last very long & kept falling out. :)

Mine didn't hurt but as others have said it was the swelling afterwards that I hated it. It actually made me really anxious because I felt like I couldn't breathe! I found my nose and helix piercings FAR more painful than tongue, and I am a wimp with pain.

Oh and no gag reflex issues for me.

I use flexi bars now to reduce damage to my teeth

The piercing doesnt hurt. It's the swelling afterwards that does
