So just been chatting to mum and shes struggling for a few things, potatoes hand soap and loo roll mainly. I was thinking I could go and drop some off I have enough to spare. Would it be ok to drive up and leave them at the bottom of her drive? Oh is shielding and apart from an occasional short walk none of us have left the house for weeks. Would it be ok to drive up to my parents and could I take dd with me?

Yes of course you can, just don't go In

NoMorePoliticsPlease · 18/04/2020 17:47

I would think so

ElloElloVera · 18/04/2020 17:47

Of course this is fine. Just make sure DD knows to stay safe distance.

LIZS · 18/04/2020 17:48

How far? Locally yes, two hours no.

ChikiTIKI · 18/04/2020 17:48

How old is she? Would she be upset/confused to see your mum and not be allowed out the car? Unless your husband is too ill to look after her alone, I would leave her at home.

AmelieTaylor · 18/04/2020 17:48

Yes. You're allowed to drop food off to people. Just keep DD in the car for a wave, blown kiss

jmh740 · 18/04/2020 17:57

Parents live 2 miles away dd is 13, ds is 10 will have to sneak out without him knowing as I dont think he would be able to cope with just blowing a kiss from the car. They usually go to my parents at least once a week for tea and I thought a distant visit might cheer them up.

Of course you can - if you're not increasing the spread of the virus you're doing nothing wrong whatsoever. It will probably cheer your Mum up enormously
