If you are in a position to keep the economy going there is nothing wrong with shopping or buying online, whether essential or not.

It's people in this position who are able to keep the economy ticking over, even if it is just the odd delivery here and there.
Yes, a lot of us have lost jobs, income etc, and can't afford, but life goes on.

There are enough posties and delivery drivers, they need to keep their jobs too. Please don't feel guilty for buying stuff.

Tbh I've bought absolutely loads of stuff online. A lot of things to keep the kids busy, craft supplies, seeds for the allotment, a case of wine. All kinds of things. I know it's not ideal for the delivery drivers but they keep a safe distance. They mostly pop it on the step, ring and go. They're usually in their car before I've opened the door.

We are in a position to buy but I thought the advice was to avoid non essential items as it wasn’t fair on the couriers etc to keep them out there.

@gamerchick Your husband needs to find another job if he is overwhelmed.

We've just booked another holiday for next year.
Plus some local gardening stuff that was delivered, dp's having an Indian takeaway this week when his favourite reopens.
Plus one of our dc has a significant birthday so we've ordered that too and will be celebrating properly when allowed to which will mean a nice meal out as well.

As a small retailer, I agree, please keep buying! In turn, it keeps me buying from other small businesses and local places. I am trying to avoid the big companies like Amazon.

I don't think there's a delivery driver who isn't knackered atm Hmm

If you are in a position to support small businesses please do. They are going under at an unprecedented rate.

Trust me, they would rather you order than not.
