AIBU to throw away book sleeves?

Usually wait til books are in paperback, but if I really want it, I'll get it on release. However, if they come with a sleeve, it gets binned immediately.

Similarly if I pick any up in the charity shops or get given hardback - the sleeve goes.

I just hate them. I don't really understand the purpose. Especially when the book itself has the title printed on. It's not needed to tell me what the book is.

I always remove the cover before reading or it just irritates me. I put it to one side and put it back on the book once I've finished though. I'm also a corner folder Confused

I feel like I need to report the monstrous people on here who turn down a corner to mark their page Shock it’s barbaric! Sleeves stay on in my house and I prefer hardbacks because the spines don’t go crinkly and wrong like a paperback

I wouldn't sell on a book. If it's a crap read I pass it on to someone who may enjoy it or donate it. If it's something I enjoy then I keep for good.

I prefer my books to look well read. Folders corners, slightly battered round the edges. I've dropped a paperback in the bath once and dried it out on the radiator and now it's all crispy and tattered but reading it feels like slipping into my favourite holey slippers.
