To wonder what “uniforms” people wear?

My silly but lovely old dad volunteered to deliver medical and food supplies to vulnerable people, and received his parking pass in the mail along with a letter asking volunteers not to dress up, and no uniforms are associated with the Royal Volunteer Service. AIBU to want to know what people have been dressing up as?

I’m not in the UK so am curious to hear what people have gone for to make things “official” — my mum thinks nurse, I think police type uniforms. It’s giving us a good laugh given it’s hard for me to take care of them right now.

I wonder if they meant dress casually rather than smartly - don't 'dress up' in the sense of wearing a suit.

I think it means go in your own clothes not your work uniform, as they don't want your workplace to be associated with it

It’s possible that someone has been selling Royal Volunteer Service ‘uniforms’ on the internet as a scam.

@BirdieFriendReturns Oh wow! What a great piece. I might recommend it to my dad.

This is a lighthearted thread! My dad said he’d opt for all royal blue and a trilby.

Can you imagine if I turned up as an NHS volunteer dressed like that! 😂
