When we have been isolating for weeks?

I don’t get it! The internet says that you can’t catch them from cats.

I always find it really interesting when people suggest shaving children’s hair off when they get nits. Mostly because I don’t think I have ever seen any girls in his school who have had all their hair shaved off.

This is definitely not something I would do to him.

I’ll comb him for a couple of weeks.

My kids get them from school. We had them the same kind of time as you OP. It takes a lot of work to eradicate. A NittyGritty comb is not enough, even for days, and even after a treatment.
You have to go through their hair every day with the comb and your fingers. The eggs are so tiny the comb won't get them all.

Nittygritty certainly is enough. My DC are teens now and never used chemicals on them. It’s not a normal nit comb.

Nitty gritty comb and conditioner is enough, the chemicals aren't very effective at all and I think a lot of people rely on them to much. We've only ever had one infestation in this house and it almost came back as I left the last comb a couple of days longer then I should have with DD and by then she had some adult nits again. Cue start the process again make sure I didn't miss any of the days and that was it job done. We both have thick hair to it wasn't a short process either.

She's been luckly not to pick any more up since thank goodness.
