Places to buy nursing bras that are reasonable?

Hello,

I’m due in four weeks and looking for nursing bras but are good quality and aren’t £50 each? With the current coronavirus my partner has been let go so I can’t go out and splurge on expensive bras but I do need some.

But being a current 36g and still waiting for my milk to come in most places like H&M don’t have anything in my size and asos with their small medium large won’t fit.

M&S doesn’t have good reviews and the same with some on jojo. Bravissimo start at £30 each and I will need at least one white and one black just not reasonable at this time. With mothercare gone I’m not sure where to look.

Anyone got any suggestions? Or know if a large would fit for a particular brand?

Sorry it’s long

I got mine from Amazon. £15 for a pack of three. Did the job fine and I’m a similar size to you.

Whatsername177 · 16/04/2020 21:53

I wore soft sports bra type crop tops, stretchy material so you just pull it over your boob to feed. Most comfortable thing ever! Cant do clicky links, sorry.

I got some good ones online from hotmilk lingerie website (the my necessity one was great), also found brastop website good for larger sizes. I've seen Amazon recommend on here before but haven't tried them myself.

Mmsnet101 · 16/04/2020 22:15

I'm similar sized to you and actually found nursing bras to be a bit of a faff and hard to find the right fit, so just went for stretchy sports bra type ones off amazon or from primark etc. Actually gives you a better shape than any nursing bra I had and was more comfy /easier to get in and out of.

CoffeeIsMyOnlyJoy · 16/04/2020 22:17

My favourite ones are h&m

frippit · 16/04/2020 22:18

Asda george have always had comfortable good value nursing bras.

SmallPinkBear · 16/04/2020 22:20

I got some amazing ones from John Lewis originally then from amazon. I think they are called Bodysilk bras by Bravado. They were so comfy, I was very sad to go back to a normal bra Grin

PeachesandPie · 16/04/2020 22:21

The m&s 2 pack ones for £20 which go up to a G are the best cheaper ones I've found, but are mostly out of stock online. You might be lucky!

Grumpos · 16/04/2020 22:22

Got to say I’ve used my M&S soft, no underwire nursing bras through two pregnancies and breastfeeding. (Well over two years worth of wear)

They look like shite now, having been washed a million times but they have been comfortable and easy to Quickly open / close via the clips. I’m a 38E and the large fits OK.
I’m getting the stage where I’m ready to go back to normal bras and I think I’ll actually miss the ugly old things Grin

Outtedagain · 16/04/2020 22:45

Get normal bras and pull the strap down, I have 4 children, similar size to you and maternity bras for ample bosoms are crap. Even pricey ones.

nerozero · 16/04/2020 22:52

This company is run by an old friend of mine. Got mine from here and they were very reasonable.

I tried on about 20 maternity bras - 34H - so uncomfortable and expensive. I ended up with my normal bras. Much better.

Minesril · 16/04/2020 22:57

I got mine from new look - really comfy, don't know about size but they were under £20 and arrived next day! The ones i saw on amazon had a really long delivery time atm, guess they're not classed as an essential item.

wurlycurly · 16/04/2020 22:59

I found good ones on la redoute

monkeysox · 16/04/2020 23:05

Brastop. Com
Royce were good for big cup sizes
Hot milk for once size has settled.

BeardieWeirdie · 16/04/2020 23:07

32G here and breastfeeding - nursing bras are awful for supporting big boobs, they end up squashed together and heavy. Get a real well fitted wired bra, cut where the strap meets the cup and hand sew on elastic and nursing clips if you have them from a saggy old nursing bra that’s no longer up to the job (or I bet you can buy them on eBay/Amazon.)

Tutorial here- it’s easy, honest.

PippaPegg · 16/04/2020 23:08

Your boobs will change size so if on a budget just go for crop top type things. They are very forgiving. I have 2 which have lasted for DC1 and 2.

Don't forget you can get hooks and eyes or bra extenders cheap on ebay to change the back size if you go significantly wider or narrower at the back.

Britannah · 16/04/2020 23:09

I thought my M&S ones were great!

PippaPegg · 16/04/2020 23:10

Ps. Don't wear wired bras or any tight fitting bra in the first few weeks. You run the risk of causing blocked ducts or mastitis from milk not being able to leave the breast.

xine15 · 16/04/2020 23:13

I know you said not m&s but I swear by mine. Comfy, easy to unhook, thick enough to stop me leaking. Not too bad on price either as they come in a two pack. I have 5 (I think one was not a multipack for some reason) three pale, a black and a navy. I'm pretty much the same size as you too.

OnlyLittleMissOrganised · 16/04/2020 23:33

Wait until your milk comes in as your breasts will change sizes. Also and I say this as someone currently breast feeding if i could go back again I wouldn't buy bras. Not much point as your boobs are constantly out. Just get some nice breast feeding tops.

MiniMinion · 16/04/2020 23:34

Debenhams have some good prices at the moment. Low stock but I've just ordered some H cups to try. Last time I got a couple of Royce ones from Bravissimo but they weren't cheap.
