To think nice girls clothes are v. difficult to find?

Or very very expensive for something that'll quickly get ruined/grown out of?

Admittedly I like old fashioned looking clothes, e.g. nice dresses perhaps with some embroidery and a pretty collar. Nothing over the top.

However, I'm not prepared to pay £80 for something so simple! Zara occasionally has some nice things, but generally high-street shops insist on stupid graphics, slogans and largely come in sickly shades of pink.

I'm genuinely considering buying some old patterns and sewing them myself

@x2boys, my son is 13 and this has always been the case even from when he was a baby. Always more options for girls, always more items for girls in the sales too.

There are a few gems everywhere. I'm always on the lookout for boys trousers in bright colours. I got red, bright blue and yellow from Asda recently. I like boots too, and h and m is great for very simple print dresses in the summer. On holiday every other girl was wearing them!
