To be worried about this?

A card just arrived from a relative. This relative's partner has volunteered to swab/test NHS workers for Coronavirus. Am I being unreasonable to be worried that this card might have Coronavirus particles on it? (given that studies show it survives for 4-5 days on paper).

I thought paper and card was less likely to harbour the virus for that long, it's solid surfaces like metal/plastic rather than porous ones.

That said, I'm being very careful with post. Open it, put the card on the shelf, throw the envelope out, WASH YOUR HANDS. The virus can't leap off the card, so if you have no further contact with it for a week you should be fine.

I'm leaving all my post for a few days before opening it.. it's not just who sent it but the postman etc..

who is the relatives partner ? are they qualified to do this sort of thing or is it something bought online and therefore potentially iffy ?
must admit i don't fully get the testing thing, you could test negative today and contract it tomorrow Confused
